Le Cartusien - Réserver une table

Tiny Sainte Croix en Jarez is a village in an old monastery and has two eateries. Go to the other one. We (two adults two young kids) chose this place for lunch as it was busy. It was scruffy, it took 45 minutes to get served and was plagued by flies. The main clientele appeared to be friends of the owner. The food, when it arrived, was no better than reasonable. Our boys were desperate for ice creams but most of the ones on offer had melted

We had lunch at Le Cartusien during a very cold day in a very "warm" place. The food was decent, no frills, mama’s cuisine, and the service extremely quick and friendly. We sat at the basement of the restaurant where locals gather as well for lunch and/ or beer and the atmosphere was happy and congenial. On the first floor there is a larger space, more restaurant like.

Excellent rapport qualité-prix : 61.70€ pour 3 personnes, apéritifs et 50cl de vin inclus. Je recommande. La salle à l'étage est climatisée, ce qui était très agréable pendant la canicule. Les deux dames qui nous ont accueillis étaient charmantes, ce qui est assez rare de nos jours !

Slow service, lots of flies, mediocre food, shabby place. Seems to be popular with people who know the owner

Une belle terrasse bien placée - un accueil attentionné - des plats copieux et des prix très raisonnables
