"Good and helpful service, nice regional dishes. Here you can feel the atmosphere of Alsatian Route de Vins. I only regret that they are not adapted to suit coeliacs needs (I ordered boiled vegetables for my coeliac daughter, but unfortunately they didn't have many kinds of vegetables to choose; I also asked for grilled chicken but they didn't have it either)."

The portions are... ...:Large. You have been warned! On arrival we were asked where we were from and were offered a menu in English. However, we were not familiar with Alsacienne cuisine and I made the mistake of ordering two dishes: a tarte flambe, which I assumed would be small and would make a pleasant starter, and a potato dish. The tarte turned out to be as large as a pizza. My wife ordered what was described as triple tartlets. These arrived as three medium sized ramekins any one of which would have been a substantial main course. The food was good, interesting but too much to finish. Looking around I don't think we were the only diners unable to finish their meal. The service was good...

Only three days to visit a friend in Bitschwiller-lès-Thann. Caseus was recommended. Before leaving the Alsace we absolutely would consume a dish choucroute. In the restaurant we choose choucroute royale because of the six different kind of meat. Presentation excellent : grandmothers way. All ingredients were tasty but .... too much food for a normal consumer. No problem : they gave us a doggy-bag , however not for the dog but for us the next day at home. The restaurant have beside the choucroute a lot of other choises, they seemed all appreciated by the people that evening. Realy a recommendation in the region.

This was recommended by our host family. You walk in to a crazy place of chatchkes and they placed us in a mini courtyard that was filled with ornaments and plants. Don't be deterred it was very good. Big wine selection and a menu that is super confusing. We ended up getting the scallop potato tasting (not your Midwest potluck boring kind! and the chicken kebab. Really big portions. The people next to us got the single portion of the scalloped potatoes it could serve 4 easily and the ham hock which looked like a small roast.

A real gem in a otherwise dead town. I went to Le Caseus solo at the bar and returned with three colleagues the next day. Everything we had was delicious. For the table of four, an actual coal burning oven was brought table side, in which we could stick the decadent cuts of meats and cheeses. We added unpeeled potatoes and had a unforgettable raclette meal. Can't wait to go back to Alsace and stop at Le Caseus.
