Last ate here in 1986 when it was superb. Not quite the same accolade now however. Tables, inside and out, exude classic dining and the service was good rather than exceptional. We chose the €89 menu but felt some of the dishes did not work although beautifully presented. Tomato Panacotta with trout fillet was overwhelmed by the trout eggs. Limousin Beef Consomme with Huitres Fumees did not really compliment each other. The pigeon was unusual but this and most courses were rather small. The cheese board was amazing. Overall we enjoyed the experience botany memorableness was missing from the construction of the dishes.
An extraordinary experience. Delicious food (the pork cooked in two ways was to die for, the trolley of ripened cheeses unforgettable, to mention just a few). The service and the presentation of the food rose to the best I have ever experienced. And the courtesy of all the personnel became even more apparent when we ran into a personal problem (unrelated to the restaurant) and they went above and beyond to help us get back safely to our hotel. Loire Valley standout- the restaurant was accommodating with our reservation for 10/ group of friends for a special birthday. From wine list that was extensive to cocktails- all with fantastic explanation of the menu- to all our orders, the meal was delicious and creatively plated. Delight for all of us, was more than a memorable meal- elegant and casual
The Centinair went to high lengths to create a wonderful dining experience, the food was creative, enjoyable, and beautifully presented. The staff was knowledgeable about our many questions. We had wonderful surprises throughout the dinner and a gift of a very thoughtful card to mark our experience with them.
