"This place was recommended to us by one of the vendors from the market across from the restaurant. I absolutely loved it. The escargots were delicious which is usually the case in most restaurants but the meat was one of the best I’ve ever had. It was so tender and seasoned to perfection. I highly recommend this place."

Wow, we sure finished off our trip to France with a fizzle. A late train ride in to Paris and a lot of errands to run before our flight the next morning led us to this establishment. Someone recommended it for good, traditional French cuisine. Well, this place confirmed that yes, there is bad food in France. We literally had begun to wonder if all meals in France were delicious but, no. Bad food and bad taste can be found anywhere. I would say that if you want to watch a rugby or soccer game and have a drink this is a fine place. To eat edible food- no this is not the place for that (filet de herring and quiche with leaks for starters, and a green lentil sausage dish and a fish with meunière...

We came here by accident as we were having drinks opposite and noticed they were showing the rugby so we decided to eat here. It's not a huge place but a lot of people just come in for a drink so there were tables free. Given the prices were pretty reasonable, we weren't sure what the quality would be like but were pleasantly surprised. The steak was delicious and perfectly cooked, the oysters were really fresh, the fish pie special was amazing and the chocolate mousse was the best I have ever tasted!! There was a good choice of wine available and the beer was good too-and not overpriced, like so many places in this area. Really friendly staff too. All of this helped me overlook the toilet (...

This is a steak restaurant behind the Marche d’Aligre (the oldest covered market in Paris in the Bastille area). It’s filled not overflowing with locals: Grandma with her baby girl, couple of middle aged businessmen, old men having the menu and some decent wine. I didn’t stray too far from any of that. Had an entrecôte with Auvergne mashed potatoes (laced with melted tomme cheese). The steak was steak. Nothing to write home about. But those mashed potatoes are the secret of their success. Heavenly. And everyone was eating them. Very convivial, homey, authentic. Coffee is 1€. The waitress who was a brilliant conversationalist gave me sample of the homemade spiced rum the old men were drinking...

Were looking for a different restaurant but ended up here by mistake. Good mistake as this turned out to be a great little hole in the wall with a most pleasant waitress and surprisingly good food. We shared a meat and cheese board with a bottle of Chinon and sparkling water. The meats and cheeses were very fresh having come from the Marche Aigle across the street. Definitely a local place as we were the only Americans. Very reasonable price.
