Le Chien Qui Fume - Réservation de table

This place is a gem from the past. I'm not sure the decor has been changed in 40 years and it's not one to visit if you're in a rush as the food is freshly prepared but it's absolutely delicious. The owner and staff are amazing; some of the vegetables come from his own allotment. Dessert was out of this world and if you're into a cheeseboard this Frenchman knows his stuff. I'd highly recommend it if you're looking for a break from a run of the mill restaurant and some excellent food.

I work in a 5-star hotel, so I know a quality restaurant when I see one. this restaurant has been open for over 30 years for a reason for high quality food and friendly service. the decor is dated, the menu serves old French classics and this is all part of the charm! I really hope that there is still space for places like these in the world the classics are still the best! I would recommend this place to everyone!

Having walked past this restaurant on numerous occasions we finally booked a table and were exceedingly glad we did. The welcome was friendly and the service was attentive but not intrusive. The venue was cosy and quaint and the food was superb and authentic French cuisine. Wine was good value and the desserts were excellent. Would highly recommend a visit and we will definitely be going back.

I loved it! the most beautiful restaurant I've visited for years. Eating is great. luigi the owner is an amazing and charming character. ambience is a total throw back on the 70s, as the food is something, but that makes it very special. we will return! Réservez une table maintenant

Quirky but excellent local restaurant. The menu is short, extended by a handful of specials, but all of our dishes were well cooked, tasty and overall excellent value.
