We recently tried to have lunch here 'tried ' being the key word! We could see while waiting to be sat down that the restaurant was very busy and so waited very patiently. We placed our order just after another couple and by the time our drinks arrived (which we had to remind the waiter about , they had finished their meal. At this point, we asked the waiter where our meals were and it became clear that he had forgotten to put our order into the kitchen. By now, the restaurant was almost empty and we could see that the chef had clocked off for the day. There was no apology, just an offer to give us some bread and cheese. Needless to say, we left the money for the drinks and left (hungry!

We used to love coming to Le Clocher. It’s a tourist restaurant with a great setting in an attractive building. The food today was pretty good, but the service was truly terrible. The staff were inattentive to the point of it becoming a joke they forgot we hadn’t had our main courses, our wine didn’t arrive in time for dinner, some of the food arrived cold and when asking for a dessert menu one of the waiting staff was actually quite rude. I’d avoid this place now there’s better and friendlier service elsewhere.

We had a very enjoyable midweek lunch here. The atmosphere and setting are the real selling point. The Maitre D’ was pleasant. However, the food and service were just okay. This did not stop us having an enjoyable meal but the food was a bit forgettable. Maybe I chose my dishes badly…

We visited for lunch our food took around an hour to arrive after ordering. Staff not very attentive. Oven chips with moules frites was very disappointing and the owner is rather arrogant he might do better mucking in to give a good customer service.
