We recently tried to have lunch here 'tried ' being the key word! We could see while waiting to be sat down that the restaurant was very busy and so waited very patiently. We placed our order just after another couple and by the time our drinks arrived (which we had to remind the waiter about , they had finished their meal. At this point, we asked the waiter where our meals were and it became clear that he had forgotten to put our order into the kitchen. By now, the restaurant was almost empty and we could see that the chef had clocked off for the day. There was no apology, just an offer to give us some bread and cheese. Needless to say, we left the money for the drinks and left (hungry!
Great food and excellent service, especially since it was a busy lunchtime! We had a group of nine but the accommodated us inside. Waitress was very efficient and very friendly despite how busy it was (about 1:30). Food wasn’t too long but we had anticipated a longer delay than actually occurred. Food was good the special of the day was dorade (sea bream) and that was delicious. We had Salade Sud ouest which was really nice. Recommend the Bierre de Re Blanche or the Blonde
We had a very enjoyable midweek lunch here. The atmosphere and setting are the real selling point. The Maitre D’ was pleasant. However, the food and service were just okay. This did not stop us having an enjoyable meal but the food was a bit forgettable. Maybe I chose my dishes badly…
