Le Comptoir des Negociants

We popped in here for a beer and ended up staying for 8 hours! There was a live band playing and the patron, Franc, found us a table so we could enjoy the band along with a great meal. Franc and his team were really friendly and provided great service as well as being part of the entertainment by dancing along with the band. A thoroughly enjoyable evening. We will be back before this week is out! The Ascensial Blues band were great - with some amazing lead guitar playing, as well as bass, drums and the harmonica.

Stopped on the way to Andorra and sat down for lunch as the market was almost gone from the square. We had very satisfying burgers and salads for lunch.All parties were happy with their choices. Beer and wine (by the glass) are available to accompany your choices. Service was friendly and efficient (we had a time constraint).It was enjoyable to sit outdoors on a beautiful day.

We stopped here for coffee and citron presse after a browse around the town. Very friendly and relaxed, great atmosphere, great service. Coffee was lovely and many sugars were given for my son's citron presse. Only haven't given 5 stars as we weren't able to stay long enough to savour the food so can't comment on it.

Fabulous food, great service, great fun with the patron between his English & our French. Sat in the Market Square of Ax Les Thermes, mid-Meal a thunderstorm threatened so we were moved inside with no fuss or drama, finished eating watching the rain lash down. Highly recommended on every front if you are in the area.

Nice place to start the day with breakfast. All the locals go here, so it's got to be good. enjoy, esp if a warmish am and you can eat outside!
