After a football match, four of us found ourselves wanting a bite to eat, and we decided on this restaurant because we had enjoyed it in the past and were never let down. I had honestly forgotten just how exceptional this place is. We didn’t have a reservation, but since it was early, we were seated right away. We quickly ordered some cold, reasonably-priced bottled beer, then turned our attention to the menu. Though the menu isn't extensive, that's part of its charm. It features a handful of starters, several classic French dishes, burgers, as well as savory and sweet crepes, ensuring there's something for everyone. Delicious freshly cooked food at this independent restaurant. It's a cozy little spot with a lovely atmosphere and a welcoming owner. We both tried the Stroganoff—beef and mushroom—and it was absolutely delightful. The wine was on the pricier side, but we thoroughly enjoyed it. After we settled the bill, the owner tracked us down at a nearby bar to let us know we had overpaid and returned £20 to us. It's those little touches that make you want to return, and we will definitely be back!
I have been going to this restaurant for years and nowhere else tops it. Best beef stroganoff in the world in my opinion. Just really wonderful friendly service. I have been ordering delivery whilst the restaurant has been closed due to the pandemic and the service and food is still flawless.
