I wanted to go to Montchavin/the coches, and I took the "white weather" track instead of the "white sandstones". Well took it!!! Here we are, my husband and our two children, arrested for lunch in this restaurant. which very pleasantly surprised us at first, it is the friendliness of all the staff. I am surprised because without saying that the staff of the other restaurants is unpleasant, we have never seen such warmth (and humour too!) as in this restaurant. a such point that we returned there twice then. Despite a rather welcoming and smiling staff, this establishment is the archetype of places that we will not want to see at altitude: self at the endless waiting, mediocre food or even squarely immangeable for some dishes and prices superior to those of a real restaurant with a table service. It is clear that its ideal situation at the arrival of the cable car is probably the only reason that allows it to continue to inflict this poor service to a passing clientele but that will probably not return. By continuing the track a few hundred meters down, it's better to be at ease with the "full sun" that can treat his clients' taste buds!
Nous avons pris un verre en terrasse, un endroit magique face aux sapins, près de l'arrivée d'un téléphérique (mais pas trop) et d'une piste pour débutants. Bref, le gentil serveur nous demande ce que nous voulons boire et mon ami répond : "un vin chaud s'il vous plaît" et là, le serveur lui propose "rouge ou blanc". Je ne savais pas et bien sûr j'ai goûté... donc allez-y et commandez-les, c'est délicieux et ça change ! En effet, Monsieur Madame du bar-restaurant, vous devriez faire beaucoup plus de publicité à ce sujet ;)
We returned to Montchavin and Crystal Neige for half term skiing. We ate here at the start of the week and enjoyed decent food (still a bit pricey as per my review from Feb 2016.) However we were very sad to see the restaurant gutted by fire overnight. Hoping that all at Crystal Neige can get it back up and running as soon as possible.

Been going here for the last two years, no complaints, not cheap but then again nowhere on the slopes is, it's always nice and warm inside, welcoming staff but always busy, nice place to stop outside on the veranda when the sun is shining, kids inform me the hot chocolate is the best in the region.
J'ai pu aller avec des amis dans ce restaurant en altitude en basse saison. Très bel endroit avec des tarifs qui ne sont pas prohibitifs (contrairement à d'autres restaurants du même genre) ! La croziflette, dans le plat du jour, était bien préparée !
So sorry to return to the restaurant in March 2017 and find that a fire had totally gutted the place. It had really good food and atmosphere. We loved it. I hope that the owner can rebuild and wish them good luck for the future.
