"We ate outside as right on the river. Lovely setting. Unlike last visit it was not very busy which surprised us. Chef has some secret ingredients to make to bouillon worth sopping up with bread. Very well done."

I have been to this lovely place over half a dozen times now and have always had a terrific experience. I'm someone with pretty high standards but am surprised that, whilst everyone seems to be in agreement on the amazing food, the negative reviews complain largely about service being a bit slow. The place is designed to be laid back and to allow you to enjoy a whole evening, lunch or afternoon in an incredible setting with vineyards on one side and the river and sunset on the other. The staff don't badger you at your table, but if you do have somewhere to be afterwards, you simply need to tell them and they will adjust the tempo accordingly. I try and return to this gorgeous spot every time...

Advertised by a nearby hotel to be a simple but authentic fish restaurant at the dordogne river bank .. surely, the location is special at sunset, but the rest! A waitress very unfriendly and ignorant, serving cold dishes (that should be served warm) after a very long waiting time with the same hands she repeatedly strokes guests‘ dogs. I‘ll NEVER be back!

This little restaurant by the river Dordogne is very quaint. The restaurant serves mainly fish. The mussels and chips were great and the sardines were very tasty. Eveything is freshly cooked. Arrive early if you have not booked a table as it gets quite busy.

After a bad experience a couple of miles away at Restaurant Carles, we were delighted to chance upon Le Face a l’eau where we sat on the terrace and had a scrumptious meal. Unsophisticated simple dining with excellent food and welcoming patron.
