It was an extremely cold Weds. when we arrived at Le Florida. We called ahead to make a reservations as we'd heard it was very popular. We were greeted in a friendly manner and given a table by the fireplace, then almost completely ignored. Granted they were busy, but it took an hour and a half to get our meals. We had to ask about the menu du jour. We had to ask to order. We had to ask for the wine we'd ordered and some bread while waiting. My entree, though poetically written as a basket of delicate, forgotten vegetables was inedible and my main course of boiled vegetables in a chestnut cream sauce were not the roasted vegetable plate I ordered. By the dessert time, the fire had burned low and the small dining room was very cold. No one, except a young woman from Mexico doing a learning exchange following the head waiter, was attentive. We were the only ones left in the restaurant and had to ask for the bill. I was very disappointed because we'd asked beforehand when making the reservation for a special vegetarian meal. None of us said anything because we wanted to see what happened and to our disappointment, nothing did. My friend's meals were good, but not special. The restaurant's decor was very nice and tasteful, though not a reason to return and we all decided we wouldn't. Overall, considering the hours drive to get there, the prices and the lack of attention, it wasn't worth it.
