"This is a very busy popular looking restaurant. We were attended to efficiently and the food was of a very good standard although we found the Portions a little on the large side. We both had the braised lamb special of the day which came with chips and salad, a carafe of water, bread and a large bottle of cider all for only €24, I would have given 5 stars if they had offered some water for our dog but sadly this restaurant didn't."

This is a modern restaurant in central Lisieux with a large terrace and seating inside as well. We were 5 and all ordered from the set menu at 13.50 euros for 3 courses. Most of us ordered the onglet steak for main course which was really good and cooked properly; The steak is grilled and comes with chips. The Manageress told us we could get a pepper sauce as well at no extra charge which is what we wanted and we all had a generous size of good pepper sauce. The service was good too despite the restaurant being very busy on this Thursday lunch time.Ce restaurant est modern dans le centre de Lisieux avec grande terrace. Nous etions 5 et avons tous pris le menu a 13.50 euros pour 3 plats. Le steak en particulier etait tres bon et cuit parfaitement a point comme nous avions demande (onglet grille) et comme nous aimont la sauce au poivre la dame qui a pris notre commande nous a dit que nous pouvions avoir la sauce au poivre egalement sans supplement. Deux de nous ont pris le jambon cuit qui etait egalement bon. Le restaurant etait tres busy mais ca n'a pas ralenti le service ou la qualite de la nouriture. Felicitations aux cuisiniers egalement!
My partner and I ate here and selected the fixed price menu. All was well and the food was really good. Our order was taken by the person who subseqently turned out to be the mananger. She then spent most of the time outside smoking and talking to other customers who were obviously her friends. At the end of our main course we were approached by a waiter who offerred us a choice of about six desserts (without bringing back the printed menu). We made our selection. when we received our bill it was significantly higher than expected. We called the woman who had taken our order over and queried it. She said we had had a dessert that was not on the fixed price menu, thereby coming off the fixed price for the whole meal. We said that we had no idea and that the waiter had said nothing. She said it was up to us to tell the waiter that we were lunching fixed price and that we would have to pay. We asked to speak to the manager. She said she was the manager, and we had to pay. We did and left the premises. Perhaps as manager she shouls spend more time inside with her customers!
Un lieux fréquenté par les habituées, ça se voit par l'accueil. Une jeune fille au service (blouson noir sans manches) à d o r à b l e souriante et très professionnelle. Mais........ la viande..... laisse à désirer. Je voulais aller manger une entrecôte mais on m'a dit qu'il n y en avait pas, due à l'augmentation de son prix, chose que je peut comprendre. Je me suis donc rabattu sur un autre morceau de viande... mais un vrai caoutchouc... aie! La cuisson correcte mais sans saveurs (sans assaisonnement) ainsi que la sauce crème avec quelques graines de moutarde à l'ancienne....bref un conseil prenez, plus un plat du jour c'est certainement mieux. Le prix par contre est vraiment correct.
We had a delightful, high value meal here on our visit to the Basilica. We happened on this cafe/bistro? completely by chance as it is not located on the busy main streets. We went in because it looked like lots of locals were there. They were. We sat next to a mom and her son she had just picked up from school. Fortunately she spoke excellent English and told us she eats there all the time. We had two "plat du jours" for 17E and that included a nice glass of red wine. Service was prompt and the waiter was very helpful. Great food. Great prices. Well done!
