My wife I and attended this restaurant before boarding the ferry back to the Uk. What a mistake, the food was dreadful, the staff were dreadful! My wife ordered the veal with a calvados sauce, the sauce was very thin with a bad taste, the veal was over cooked and very tough, when she complained the male owner argued that it was fine, my wife asked to change for fish and chips, which he very reluctantly did, however the fish had been frozen and was not nice at all, which was surprising because the restaurant is beside the sea. We again complained and asked the meal be taken off the bill, we were met with a tirade of abuse from the couple who owned the restaurant, accusing us being drunk English people and they even tried to call the Police, all because we wanted a meal that was dreadfully cooked taken off the bill. My meal Entrecôte steak was tasteless but just about edible. The standard of food and service is not what you would expect from any restaurant in France where the cuisine is normally excellent.

I sought out a restaurant with a menu that could accommodate my multiple food allergies. I was greeted warmly upon entering and my entré arrived in good order. The entrecôte was perfectly cooked and very tasty as were the pommes frites. It was my mistake to not notice the menu's fine print that indicated the salads contained vinegar, an adverse liquid for me. I was so focused on enjoying my entré that I did not notice the dressing on the salad. When I told my server that unfortunately I could not eat the chèvre salad, the owner came over to point out my mistake. But she did not fault me for my oversight. Instead, out came a salad remake with no vinegar. I made sure I appreciated her customer-centric approach by paying beyond my bill so she knew how much I appreciated her quality service.

We just love this restaurant…..before boarding the ferry leave enough time to visit. I know it is a bit touristy but that is part of its charm…. Specialities are Crepes and my favourite Mussels.. we ordered a carafe of Sauvignon, moules a la crème, …which were just wonderful! And then a crepe flambéed in Calvados… I could easily have had another but the ferry beckoned! Although we had not been for a long time the proprietor recognised us immediately….probably from some of our Brocante purchases!! …..if you leaving France on Normandy ferries from a journey long or short do not miss out on visiting this restaurant

Called on spec when desperate to find somewhere open on a Monday evening and we’re made to feel most welcome. Enjoyed a wonderful traditional fish soup, mussels and finally crepes. Friendly and very helpful staff. Very good value and great experience.
