we (two Americans and three French had taken a look at castel clara, but were drawn off from the high trips. we found le goeland by chance when we walk around le palais. it just had a good feeling, so we were read without prejudice or...awareness. (today, while I wrote this review, I discovered that le goéland has a Michelin plate. Although it started before the actual early season, it was almost full. the service was friendly and attentive. we spoke mainly in French, but the American who spoke only English was helped in English. the menu described the names of their students, almost all local. most fish and seafood were local and very fresh. all the portions were generous and contain slight...

traveling to belle ile, for many years our summer vacations spent, we never went so dissatisfied through an evening meal. Usually the served food is on the island “tres francais”: fresh and tasty. it took a past to the grim waiter (owner without apron?) who took not from us and refused to serve us salade nicoise instead of being offered on the street map. “We are the restaurant” that is only for the retreat” so we order 2 entrecote and a faux filet. the drinks, where served in sloppy wise. the winery, a talk côte du rhone was not delicious. no idea whether the chef is a Vietnamese, but the author faux filet a la “pho quon” was simply a faux filet with not a single touch of Vietnamese style o...

Next to the harbor of Le Palais, Le Goeland is a pub style restaurant with a warm atmosphere. In the big open fire fish and meat are carefully cooked. Great old fashioned pommes frites will complete your meal. Also nice platters of fruits de mer.

we ordered 2 angus steaks, medium back. they looked out a shoe sole and we were placed more than 70 euro in bill 2 glasses red wine.

great place, great food! the seabass carpaccio was amazing! very friendly crew. cozy atmosphere. will come back in any case!
