I was pretty excited and looking forward to this restaurant as it is new to me. We made plans to host my two friends on 9th August 2017 evening. The restaurant wasn't really packed but it was busy with plenty of tables available. We were welcomed and sat down quite quickly and we were pretty excited about the new experience we are going to get from the restaurant. We realized something unusual when we asked for help about the foods in the menu. The staff whom were managing in our area mostly was a well dressed man whom seemed like the manager or owner of the restaurant but wasn't really keen on spending more than 10 secs to my company's questions. We asked for help with the menu with the intention of asking for recommendations as we were ready to order. Trying to get the man's attention took a good 10 mins at each time. The man came when we asked for help, and left in a jiffy even before my female companion had barely asked the question. I thought he was rude and usually waiters would patiently listen to customers or ladies in particular for any request. This happened for the next 30mins, he came and left less than 10secs at each time. I was slightly affected and I didn't think the restaurant was that busy to do that to my female companion and guest. My company speaks French and my guest is French so I don't think there were any language or cultural barrier.I could've made a scene but I kept my cool giving him the benefit of a doubt that he couldn't manage the floor due to his nice outfit that maybe restricting his movements. I didn't want to make my guest uncomfortable so we decided to stay and wait patiently.I have never ever had this kind of table service and certainly did not expect such a rude approach from a restaurant I was ready to pay 200 euros for. It was embarrassing for my company to my guest as the service was poor and wasn't representative of the service in France in general. I have enjoyed many restaurants in France and never had I come across such an atrocious table service. I absolutely detest the way we were treated. The floor staff dressed in uniforms were fantastic, they were busy but they were attentive but the well dressed "manager" was absolutely a disaster.I enjoyed my company whom helped me overcome this poor table service. The food is good but not great, mostly affected by the poor manners from the manager. My companion had a bad oyster but they quickly changed a new one for her, so that was alright.Personally and honestly I will avoid hosting any dinners in this restaurant. I'm not sure if I have experienced racism or it was purely poor service from the well dressed manager but certainly I won't recommend this restaurant to anyone. The food isn't really that great that one would go back again when you visit beautiful Le Havre again.I won't recommend you to take the risk and foul your night. However there is another seafood restaurant by the sea as well. Walking distance from this atrocity of service. I would recommend you to divert your route slightly and advance to La Clapotis. Their service and food is memorable and it is one of the restauarants I would return. For this Le Grand Large, just forget it. Your money can be better spent elsewhere.Take the risk if you want to as this was only my experience.1 star for the food. No star for the service. Highly recommend readers to avoid.

This was our last restaurant on our 2.5-week French tour and it was a perfect send off. The setting was beautiful. The service was friendly. The food was delicious. We decided to return the next time we travel through Le Havre.

This restaurant has an amazing view, they have good service and probably average food. Worth a visit just for the view and a nice bottle of wine!
