There are so many restaurants and bistrotas in sarlat that it is difficult to choose one at lunch or dinner. the last time we were there we decided to try or le régent for pure curiosity: the owner bistrot, another restaurant that leaves us a lot, had changed to the regiment and apparently took the chef with him. the restaurant is in full place of the liberté, in the heart of the old town. We ate on the terrace of the first floor, which has wonderful views of the square and all the buildings around. He's got us so much. the staff is the most professional and the dishes were rich. the menu of 19,50 that I took is of the classic delicacies of the region, magret of canard and pommes à la sarladaise queso or dessert to choose (the walnut cookies with English cream is traditional). There are also menus of 24 and 26 €, a menu decouverte to 13,20 € and apparently a menu of the day between week at lower prices. Taking care of the wine, it can make a lot of difference in the account. Sometimes it's better to order a cup instead of a bottle. and if you ask for water, do not ask for bottled water and do join a carafe d'eau, which is a jar of tap water like the one of Madrid, good and grátis. in francia everyone does. in the photo you can see the place of the liberté with its famous and busy market on Saturdays and, at the bottom, the terrace of the regiment.

Petit moment bien sympathique en terrasse, soleil et un plat du jour au top!!! Et en plus avec la compagnie du patron et sa petite femme!!!!

On est bien accueilli et bien servi dans une super déco 50 's US qui donne une ambiance à la Happy Days ;
