Rencontrant un ami en Bourgogne sur le chemin du retour d'Italie vers le Royaume-Uni, nous avons été ravis de découvrir le Château Sainte Sabine, et encore plus ravis de rencontrer le fabuleux restaurant gastronomique Le Lassey. Tout dans l'expérience était fantastique, d'un Kir royal «spécial maison» sur la terrasse à trois plats de la nourriture la plus exquise, techniquement parfaite et absolument délicieuse que j'ai jamais mangée. Tout d'abord, le service est merveilleux. Attentif mais pas envahissant. Vous n'êtes jamais pressé et pourtant tout est là quand vous en avez besoin. Hugo a été génial pour nous expliquer la nourriture (dans un anglais parfait) et s'assurer que nous étions pris...
Le Lassey is wonderful. Attentive and friendly service, fantastic food and so affordable. We would eat here every week if we lived closer!From the get go, we were welcomed as honoured guests and immediately offered an aperitif in front of the open fire. The menu du jour (€26 excluding cheese) offers a choice of three dishes for the starter and main course so there should be something for everyone. The sweets are served from a wide selection on the trolley which is a new twist for us this visit. Vous commandez une place pour ce que vous pensez être un restaurant étoilé Michelline de haut niveau, mais ce qu'ils ne vous disent pas, c'est que le lundi, c'est un chef différent avec un menu complètement différent, horrible et trop cher. Nous avons commandé le spot sur le site officiel ! La nourriture était ennuyeuse et n'avait pas bon goût du tout. La sauce de veau était brûlée et les plats ne correspondaient pas à nos attentes. Nous aurions été bien avec une nourriture correcte, mais c'était littéralement la pire nourriture que nous ayons mangée en France. Je pense qu'ils devraient perdre leur étoile pour ça.
This was our second stay at Sainte Sabine. As with the previous visit, we were driving south to Italy and chose this hotel as a convenient stopping off point about half way from the channel port. We had requested vegetarian meals in advance and the hotel restaurant really made a great effort to create an interesting and tasty “gourmet”. Combined with an excellent level of service in the historic surroundings of this wonderfully hotel made for a memorable evening.
Dined at lunchtime with a set menue recommended by a local friend we finally made it. Welcome and service throughout was excellent. Friendly, light, knowledgeable and perfectly correct. The wine list while reasonably expensive did have more moderately priced wines and were excellent. The food was utterly delicious, fresh and very nicely presented. Highly recommend Le Lassey and would return anytime.
We have eaten here many times and it is good to see that it now has a separate listing.Sebastien Henri is a genius to produce such amazing quality food so beautifully presented - and yet so affordable. Service is first rate and the selection of wines is good.I would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant for the fixed priced lunch.
Mostly I was impressed by fromage selection, but foiegras and omble chevalier among entrée have been just perfect. After tasting agneau as a main course I've understood that I still have something to learn in cuisine farnçais. It was our second visit in two years period and each time impressions were superb.
Stayed for one night at the Chateau on the drive back home and booked a table at the restaurant for dinner. Excellent service, every waiter was polite, attentive and informative. The food was excellent and we would not hesitate in going back again when we are in the area.
