Le Lion d'Or - Réserver une table

I looked over TA to find the best in the area for a birthday treat. We chose number one and thought we must book! When we arrived there was one family already installed and slowly more arrived. The restaurant was far from full when we...left. We were welcomed warmly and offered a choice of table. Drink order taken and menus left. We were told that one dish was off the menu. We were not at this stage offered the fixed price menu but rather the á la carte. Eventually the blackboard was brought to us but yet again one main out of two was off and replaced by a veal steak. I chose beetroot soup with goats cheese mouse and my wife iced gaspatcho neither was wonderful but both okay. I chose the veal and was very glad I had. It was the highlight of the meal being perfectly cooked. The sauce a little salty, the chips excellent. My wife chose fish which was also well cooked. Our puddings were the weakest part of meal, tasting rather synthetic. Would we return. Yes but not too soon

I had the opportunity to eat twice in this nice restaurant just in the Centre of Selles sur Cher, in front of the old cathedral. The service is perfect and the food really good. The have brassery and restaurant options. During the summer period you...can eat outside where you can also appreciate this little town of the Loire's Valley. Good quality of the food and wide options for the menu

Called in to lunch and break our journey and was welcomed heartily. Just a la carte but the food was faultless. Service thorough although the waiter should really not respond with "Comment" when asked a question. Interesting building with quite a bit of history attached

We enjoyed a meal sitting outside on a sunny evening. The staff were all pleasant and the food wholesome. It's a pleasant quiet town square. I would not go out of my way to go again but id be happy to recommend it to others...like ourselves just passing through

With few good places to eat in the area, this is a must. The best being with nice weather to eat outside, facing the church, the fountain... Very nice, kind, and efficient waiters. And very good, fresh, homemade food, nicely presented, with a good variety
