Le Lion Verd - Réserver une table

Having previously had a pleasant meal at the restaurant, we took two friends for dinner. We selected the Euro 30,90 menu, and the first course was okay, albeit that our fois gras portions were very small indeed, whereas we saw customers at the table opposite us, have portions sufficiently large that they actually shared one portion between two plates! Our main course arrived. Two ordered the prawns and scallops, and two orders for steaks. All orders were with chips. My husband's prawns and scallops arrived, he had two scallops and one prawn plus one empty prawn head!. The vegetables were completely dried up, limp and frankly inedible. He received a plate with rice instead of chips, but the waitress immediately supplied a bowl of chips. The prawn was like a pencil eraser, and the scallops were cooked in a similar way. My steak arrived (with a similarly disgusting vegetable accompanyment). The steak was minute - I estimate about 80grams, and instead of being medium rare, it was cremated. My friend's steak, which had been ordered to be seignant, was similarly cooked to death - completely grey and cooked all the way through. We called the waitress and asked for them to be replaced with steaks cooked to our order. The plates were taken away, and about 2 minutes later, returned. My medium steak was stone cold raw - not even Bleu. I cut it open and demonstrated to the waitress that it was raw - she agreed and asked if we wanted anything else. I did not want to try a third main course, as our celebration evening with friends, who we were treating to a meal out to thank them for help on a project, was an absolute disaster. We paid for our drinks, the starters, and we left. The chef should be ashamed of him/herself for sending out such disgustingly cooked meals. The waitress was professional and we have no complaints about her. There was no management in the restaurant to whom we could complain. We have attempted to contact the owner to discuss our experience, as we are not in the habit of leaving poor reviews but after 2 weeks without any reply, we have decided to leave this review.

Just eaten our Sunday lunch here. What a difference the renovations have made! The dining room decor was light and airy - the menus were excellent value and the food delicious. There was an appreciative hum from the other clientele in the dining room.Everything was beautifully presented with a smile and with touches of humour from the waiter. From the starters to the deserts everything was perfect. Each main dish had a thoughtful selection of vegetables to accompany it... the cheeses were perfect and mostly of the region. And as for the deserts..my husband contentedly wallowed in his calvados-soaked apples and ice cream... and my café gourmande was just that - With its several mini deserts to sample and enjoy.It's been a while since we have eaten here but we will be back soon and it will readily become one of our regular haunts.Thanks to all involved.

Having visited this hotel last year, we were stunned by the improvements this year for our one night stay.The staff were friendly and accomodating to our needs.The food for our evening meal was delicious and reasonably priced .Bedrooms have been updated to a high standard , and we all had a comfortable night.Amazing location .Would stay here again , and would recomend to anyone .

We came upon this on the way to the ferry. It sits in a attractive square in a small town. It looked very inviting and we wished we could have stayed longer. Nice coffee and croissants and very cheap

Stayed in a beautifully restored room full of little touches of luxury. From the luxury bathrooms, plush bedroom to wonderful food a fantastic place to stay.
