We happened upon Le Loup Blanc (The White Wolf) when we found out that the original restaurant we were going to was closed for lunch that day. Le Loup Blanc is right of of the city center slightly set back from the street in a very quiet and peaceful setting. All four of us had the daily special which was a Mozzarella Salad with Tomatoes followed by 5 large Prawns and mashed potatoes. Quiet possibly the best prawns that I've ever had and it was fun to watch our table decide what the best way to open them up would be. Some with our fingers and at least one more patient diner with fork and knife. We all really enjoyed the lunch and a very solid glass of Granache Roussane Bourboulenc went nicel...
We were the first guests to arrive at the restaurant at 730pm. We were greeted and sat where we liked. Most guests sit outside the main restaurant.We had the main menu of the day and after starters my wife had a very generous dish of prawns in garlic and I had beautifully cooked Duck with some fat still on it. The standard of cooking was excellent. Followed by Creme Brûlée. The menu of the day was 38Euros.
The prawns were delicious. The foie gras was also excellent. The Magret was decent but I prefer it served sliced. The wine was a little pricey but it is Gordes . I would change the price rating to $$$-$$$$ because we shared apps and had no dessert and only 1 bottle of wine for 4 and it was 40€ pp.
This was a very popular restaurant for both lunch and dinner. We were here for lunch. We ordered salmon salad and tuna. Salmon slice was smoked. Tuna was half cooked. They were fresh and delicious. We sat in the terrace with shade in hot days. It was a bit stuffy but the food was great.

I found it really interesting that French food is hard to find in Gordes, everything is pasta or pizza, which I must confess is a little disappointing for such a beautiful part of France. This restaurant offered lovely food at a reasonably price and didn't involve pasta or pizza.
Down a little alley, you come into a yard. Set out as a nice little restaurant. The food was delicious and the fish plump and tasty. We had a wonderful evening. Well worth a visit and not expensive.
Gordes est l'un de mes endroits préférés dans le monde entier, mais je n'ai pas encore trouvé de restaurant que j'aime là-bas. Le loup blanc ne fait pas exception.
Je suis choqué par la mauvaise critique que je viens de lire, mais elle date d'il y a plus d'un an et peut-être que des changements ont eu lieu depuis.

The staff the food and the ambience are all perfect .they managed vegetarian food which was yummmmmmm
