At the time, this bakery was the best in Montoire, and offered good quality baguettes and rolls, made from quality flour (Viron flour mill in Chartres), and we had 4 baguettes for the price of 3. None of that today, even at 1.2€ the tradition: compact and pasty white crumb, with a few holes in the center as cells, no more sharp crusts at the ends, but a right-angled cut. In short, there must have been a change of ownership, and as often for the worse.
