We where overwhelmed by our meal at this beautiful restaurant, set in the grounds of the magnificent Château Léognan, where we were stopping over for a night. The restaurant is in a beautifully converted stables but all diners were seated outside on the terrace, which was large enough to have been a former riding area. The staff, despite their apparent youth, were knowledgeable, attentive and professional and gave us excellent advice on the wine (from the domaine). Each dish was a masterpiece: a magical fusion of flavours, put together with the freshest, locally-sourced ingredients. The tomatoes were out of this world! We wanted to go somewhere for a pleasant and relaxing and good meal and this place certainly lived up to our hopes. It is in a beautiful location only about 15 minutes out of main Bordeaux. It is so quiet and tranquil. We had a pre meal drink which was a really nice cocktail and enjoyed this in their comfortable chairs. We chose to sit outside which was wonderful. The menu is great a touch choice of food! It was beautiful. Really well cooked and tasty. Service was brilliant. We had one of their red wines from the winery which was good (2014). In all a beautiful meal.
Si vous cherchez un repas délicieusement cuisiné dans un cadre paisible entouré de forêt dans la région viticole de Bordeaux, ce restaurant devrait combler toutes vos attentes. Il est bien caché hors des sentiers battus mais facilement trouvable grâce à Google Maps. Le vin du vignoble peut être acheté dans leur boutique et en semaine, diverses visites sont proposées. Leur menu trois plats "Le Tour de Manège" coûte actuellement 39,00 € mais il s'agit d'une cuisine raffinée plutôt que copieuse. Nous avons l'intention d'y retourner certainement !
We’ve gone there because of the promise of the menu and the reputation. It is a pretty good place to eat, because of the menu and because of the place, charming one, nearby a Pessac Léognan wine castle. Interesting tastes and flavours, well mixed, but « classic » enough to be accepted easily by everybody, good point, sometimes, too much innovating menu make it not acceptable by all. 4/5, why ? A little bit more inventive cooking and a wine card more expanded. Hope this will help you ! The place is amazing, go and test :
L'ambiance est merveilleuse, entourée de chevaux dans les champs. Le service était très amical et efficace. J'ai commandé le gravlax qui était tout simplement délicieux, probablement l'un des meilleurs que j'ai jamais goûté. Mon mari a eu un plat de poisson très bon et nous avons partagé du jambon ibérique avec les enfants. Nous avons pris des desserts délicieux et on nous a offert des bonbons avec le café. Je ne suis normalement pas fan des macarons français classiques, mais ceux-ci étaient délicieux. Je recommande.
Le dîner au Manège était exceptionnel !!! De l'accueil chaleureux que nous avons reçu aux adieux affectueux du personnel, tout dans ce restaurant extraordinaire était tout ce que nous avions espéré et plus encore !!! Environnement de restauration en plein air incroyable, nourriture exquise et vin exceptionnel !!! Tout était parfait. J'aimerais seulement pouvoir y manger plus souvent, mais notre voyage dans la région bordelaise est bref. Si l'occasion se présente, nous reviendrons le plus vite possible !!!
Main dishes good but the starters and desserts not at the same level. Staff was nice and professional but nothing much. The best of this restaurant is the environment which is in the middle of the nature surrounded by pine forests and it is enclosed in the property of Chateau Leognan. All-in-all I would say good experience but for the price would expect something more exquisite so not good enough value for the money.
Endroit vraiment sympa. Nous avons pris des entrées et des plats de style tapas car il faisait très chaud et nous ne voulions pas vraiment de plats cuisinés. Tous les plats étaient excellents. Vaut vraiment le détour pour le dîner. Les prix du vin sont assez élevés mais de qualité. Nous nous sommes tenus aux vins du château qui étaient d'un très bon rapport qualité-prix et délicieux.
