Well we went twice last year when the new people setup here, the food was nice. But not today... The white wine we had to send back, it must have been open a month. The starter was probably bought in, but was quite tasty to be fair. The mains were Coq au vin or à Chicken Escalope, the Coq wasn't on. The Escalope was 2 frozen battered type lumps, absolutely tasteless with pasta & a spoonful of salty tomato sauce - disgusting. The cheese board was ok, but would have been better if taken out of the wrappers. Dessert was some chocolate thing with a squirty cream or pear tart, we had the tart... Quite obviously bought in, it was edible - it came with nothing.The chef used to be chatty, not today...
we went on a friday lunchtime, three adults and a 1 year old. You need reserve in advance as they have a set menu and need prepare one day ahead for diners. The starter was a salmon and shrimp ceviche with beetroot etc and was good. This was followed by cod in a cheese sauce and veg. Again pretty good. A generous selection of cheese followed and to finish was a creme of banana, apple,pear and kiwi. Half a litre of red wine thrown in for free. E 12 per head. Damn good value and, in good weather, they have a nice outside terrace. will go again.
We noticed new signs and came today for Monday lunch, the first customers! Two menus at 13.50 and 20 euros. We had terrine du maison, veal sauted with tomato and olive, purée, a fabulous selection of cheese to rival any fine restaurant, chocolate cake with creme anglais, crème and nice crunchy bits, and coffee. It was delicious, not your standard ouvier menu. We shall be back and wish them every success. Open lunch and evening, every day! Come soon!! X❤️
For 6 years my company, Bonkersfrog Activity Holidays, has been taking our guests for both lunch and evening meals to Le Marais. We have always had excellent food, attentive and entertaining service. We can't recommend this restaurant highly enough. The set menu is a wonderful idea, you can just relax and enjoy the food and the atmosphere. We will be back again next summer with our guests - old and new. Andy & Cris Bassam

De retour après 4 mois de retour en bas. Accueilli comme un ami perdu depuis longtemps. J'y suis allé avec 3 autres Australiens en visite. Nous avons tous été impressionnés par la qualité et la quantité des plats. Déjeuner d'un excellent rapport qualité-prix. Emplacement fantastique dans la cour. Je peux dire que nous sommes des habitués maintenant. Mais pourquoi plus de gens ne l’ont-ils pas encore découvert ?
Je suis tombé par hasard sur le bar/restaurant tard un samedi soir et j'ai fini par y aller 5 nuits sur 7 pour prendre un verre, quelques dîners et un déjeuner, le propriétaire/chef est très sympathique et tout le personnel est arrangeant et serviableBons produits locaux et excellent rapport qualité/prixJe reviendrai de retour dans la région en septembre CheersDarren
We were refused service on a Sunday lunchtime visit because the restaurant was "full" even though it was nearly empty. We had not booked a table and the owner was too inflexible to respond to passing trade.We stopped at a riverside bistrot 300m away and had an BBQ lunch instead in delightful surroundings, presented by two enterprising young women
Have been visiting this restaurant many times every year since it opened. Sadly on my last visit the restaurant has closed up and is up for sale.The hosts Sylvie & Adel and the restaurant will be a great loss to the village as their restaurant is the only bar/restaurant for many miles around.

Had a great menu du jour today (13.50) with 2 friends from England. What a difference a few months make. Middle of winter. 10 diners in total. Looks like they have ticked all the boxes. Bon chance. Andy Griffiths
Our 3rd visit since September last year. Another wonderful meal-well cooked classic food. Wonderful atmosphere, frequented by the locals. Will definitely return. Keep it up????
