Sunday is a hard day to find anywhere open in France, let alone a restaurant. We stumbled upon it by chance as we were hungry around 3pm. Le Melchior was the only place we could find selling meals at that time. I can fully agree with many on here who say what a gem this place is!! You MUST try the Couscous with all the trimmings (vegetables, spicy sausage, spiced sultanas). Fabulous. The host spoke no English but was extremely attentive & polite at all times. Admittedly a bit on the pricey side but food this good is a rare find anywhere. If your motorhoming nearby - it's a must-see.
The food was delicious! We enjoyed Moroccan soup, gazpacho, risotto with mushrooms and chicken and fish. Our French is limited but our host happily did charades to help describe each dish. This is a friendly spot! By the end of the evening we were meeting lots of people and writing English versions of the next days menus.Regarding the critiques: This isn't a place to go if you are in a hurry. Personally, I loved the portion sizes. There was a nice amount of food for a good price. It wasn't huge portions and I felt great after dinner. Just come! Great food and fun.
Stopped at lunchtime during a cycle ride, another party sat outside enjoying lunch. Waited approx 5 mins before a waiter came out who chose to ignore us, cleared party's table and continued to ignore us. No menu offered or acknowledged we were even there so we got up and left to spend our money in a different venue. Clearly we won't be visiting again!
L'hôtel nous a recommandé 'La Cascade' à cette adresse. Lorsque nous sommes entrés, on nous a dit que cela avait changé il y a 2 ans. Il prétend avoir une cuisine internationale, mais le décor est principalement marocain. À 14 heures, nous étions les seuls clients. Le menu n'était pas très étendu, mais les prix étaient raisonnables.

We discovered this restaurant while on a driving holiday. Great location by a canal and an old Bridge. The hospitality from the staff and the owner was first class. The food was excellent cooked by a young talented chef. We loved the place and it's location . The food was fresh and tasty and the prices were reasonable.
Nous avons essayé le restaurant pour un déjeuner d'un dimanche et c'était très bon. Nous étions quatre, chacun a commandé un plat différent sur le menu et nous étions tous satisfaits de la nourriture. Après le déjeuner, le propriétaire nous a proposé de prendre un thé en terrasse. Je recommande cet endroit!
The food was ok but the portions were very small and thus expensive and not enough. The waiter was very occupied with a lot of things except his customers. A shame, it could be a good concept but it wasn't satisfying at all this way.
Nous étions déjà venus ici auparavant et c'était bon mais pas exceptionnel, bien que cela valait la peine d'y retourner. Maintenant, c'est transformé et fantastique.

Really good food that taste like in Morocco. The owner created a nice and welcoming atmosphere. The location close to the river is particularly nice.
