une soirée en demi-teinte ou, selon les avis déjà postés et la beauté des lieux, nous nous faisions une idée presque parfaite de ce qui nous attendait. premier cercueil, nous sommes idéalement placés en terrasse, mais, petit hic, un client fumeur est proche et la fumée qui vient à nous vit. on demande alors à être déplacé, plutôt à l'intérieur. mais les tables sont déjà mises pour le petit déjeuner. La maîtresse de maison nous le fait bien comprendre, et nous propose une autre table dehors. menu à 35€, et c'est parti. avec rosace apéritive, généreusement accompagnée de rillettes et de pain grillé. Salade paysanne copieuse et appréciée, salade de noix de st jacco (un peu cuites à notre goût)...
In may 2011 we stayed for 9 days half board at Le Moulin De Mitou.This renovated old watermill is situated very central in the Dordogne.The owners Serge & Marie-Claude ( Mitou ) did everything to give us a pleasant stay.Breakfast was standard but ok. Diner was extremely good. Even the 17 Euro option was a treat... Because of the 9 day stay we could try a lot from the menu.Le maître Serge & his aid in the kitchen have not only local dishes ( duck / canard ) on the menu. From Bask country the soup is very good. Discovered by family when visiting the Dordogne earlier this year we were encouraged to embrace the dinning experience that is Le Moulin De Mitou. Recently refurbished the restaurant is open to non guests of the hotel. We booked a table for early evening and arrived a little early so that we could have a drink before our meal. When we arrived the owners and staff were dinning out on the patio but still broke off to welcome us and to make sure we were settled with a drink before returning to their meal. We discovered this restaurant/hotel by sheer chance on our way to Sarlat. It was so lovely, we decided to stop and enjoy a late lunch outside. The hotel itself, with its sparkling swimming pool in front, is quite impressive and the outdoor dining space was incredibly picturesque. A little Westie lay outside the flower arched entry, bidding welcome to all who entered. I had the warm goat cheese salad which I grew to crave on our French vacation. We made the mistake of not ordering the cheese tray for dessert, which the table next to us did, it was a big mistake. We had booked an overnight and reserved the restaurant for dinner. The food is excellent and we would highly recommend it. Thomas, the waiter was excellent. The restaurant was full and he did the entire service alone, without any sign of stress. He is an asset to the hotel. I would employ him without a doubt if I was in the restaurant business.
We visited this restaurant with friends yesterday. The setting is wonderful, the staff and food were excellent. At around 40 euros per person (including wine) we thought it was great value, you could easily pay more than twice as much for these standards. We live locally and will be returning. Highly recommended.
I ate hear for Dinner with my small tour group for dinner. we ate outside and the area was beautiful. I had the fois gras with sweet breads for dinner. I am a person who will try any food once. The dinner was delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant for dinner.
We were passing by and casually looking for a restaurant when we drove by. It's got a nice garden, and a simple but excellent menu.We had a late lunch, and would like to come back again if only we were in the region more often.

Everything that our group ordered was delicious and beautifully presented. The servings are very generous--the fish soup that a friend ordered as her "starter" would easily have served four people.
