You know that Rick Stein show where he visits various cities in Europe? Don't you always think "how come we never find restaurants like that"?. Me too,until we literally stumbled into this place on a Tuesday lunchtime. It's off the beaten track a bit, down by the harbour and we'll away from the touristy parts further up. At lunch we had the "menu du jour" and at 13.5 euros for 3 courses it's unbelievable value. There's only two starters, three mains and two desserts to choose from, but it's all fantastic. The restaurant was full of local French people and there's a heavy focus on fresh local fish. We tried the cured herring starter and it was beautiful, I'd never order something like that no...
Found this resto thanks to tripadvisor. Had a great lunch. The food is great. The menu entre plat dessert is only 13.50€ for lunch. With coffee instead of dessert - 11.50€ There are 3 choices to chose for menu. We took different things with my husband, both so good. the portions are good size. There's kid's dish. The place is in the marine style , very cosy, service very friendly. You have to wait a bit for food but I think in most French restaurants it is like this.If you go by car, there's a construction on the way, so the GPS can show a strange way but still we found it easily.
Had the Menu 25€ smoked salmon/mussel in cream sauce /seafood cocktail a mixed starter main course chicken breast stuffed with cheese carrots courgette dauphonaise potato mushrooms desert apple pie/chocolate cake /creme brulee include a digestive Calvados and small carafe of wine food really excellant
We chose this restaurant based on the reviews and locality to our hotel. Very pleased with the service and reception we received from the staff helping us with the menu. Food was excellent and reasonable priced, we would definitely recommend and use this restaurant if we return to Bolougne.
