We came for lunch. It was a hot day and all the places under the umbrellas were busy but we did not want to sit in the sun. We asked to sit inside, but we were told we may not sit inside, only outside. We heard several guests who wanted to have only a drink and were told that they will not be served if they only drink. In general there is no efforts by waiters to make a good welcoming experience for guests. Not efficient service: there were 3 waiters but only one was enabled to take orders for the whole restaurant. Consequently, guests need to be quite patient while the ordering waiter is running in all directions. No value for money: this restaurant is quite expensive for what you get in yo...

We are walking the Via Francigena route from Canterbury to Rome. We walked into Wissant today and were delighted to sit down outside the hotel for a drink. The waitress very efficiently and courteously served us 2 beers. After that it went downhill. We were enjoying our beer but when I asked the owner about food this evening we got an absolute tirade about not making a reservation and thinking we could walk in and get a table. We only asked was it possible to have food there this evening. And whilst I was there another guy came in in shorts and was chastised for entering the premises in shorts. I was in shorts too and when the owner realised that he gave me a lecture about being in a pub in...

From the start disappointed, no where to park, 2 flights of stairs, stair carpets needed a clean. Room clean but very tired, urgently need to replace beds and yellow sheets and bath. More disappointing was customer services, not welcoming, long drive in heat to be advised restaurant closed that evening, no where to sit outside , no where to have a drink at 3.30pm as closing for evening. Finally when we checked out charged an extra £10 euro. Did not feel welcome and the hotel was the only disappointment this week.

This is a basic 2 star hotel. Decided to have a drink in the afternoon outside on the terrace, service was very slow... one person for too many tables in my opinion. The hotel rooms, despite supposedly having upgrades in recent years, were tired. The 'pension ' food was good but disappointed to have flies and storm flies buzzing around, sitting near the window. Ordered wine but this was not opened at the table which I thought was strange.
