Having eaten at lots of nice places with our children in tow, we decided to book a babysitter and go out for the evening. As there are not many options locally we looked at the reviews and thought this place looked good. Not sure if were just there on an off night but it was really the worst meal we ate in a fortnight for the service and the food.We arrived around 8pm and the place was already busy but the waitress took our order and brought our wine...over an hour later when we still hadn't received our starter, or any explanation for the delay, I went inside to be met with a shrug and "We are busy" not really what you expect. Obviously the kitchen was badly understaffed for a Friday night. When our starters eventually arrived at around twenty past nine — after watching desserts and coffees sail by to other tables — I was so hungry I didn't really notice being underwhelmed, as you can't really mess up baked goats cheese although my husband's green lipped mussels (surely not local so maybe frozen?) were drenched in garlic and not great. The main dishes arrived about twenty minutes after that and I really wished I hadn't bothered with my tepid tuna. It was absolutely tasteless and came served with a piece of lettuce (the best thing on the plate!) and what looked like chocolate sauce drizzled over it. It was actually balsamic vinegar in attempt to give it some flavour — it didn't. The chips were cooked in lard I guess or old fat as they tasted horrible. We obviously didn't bother with dessert or coffee as we wanted to be home by midnight...so I can't comment on those. I'm sure people in large groups fare better but for dining as a couple in the evening I wouldn't recommend.

We just had another great meal at Le Palissy. It's always busier in the summer holidays because of the number of tourists around but we still had a great meal. I had melon followed by rare seared tuna steak, which was fantastic. And then some prunes. Other members of our group had pate, foie gras, duck and steak. Everyone was very happy. Highly recommended!

As a regular customer of our great local restaurant a change of Chef is always going to make one wonder about the future. However, we shouldn't have worried as Oli and Antoine are doing an awesome job! Lunch yesterday was fantastic: Pork brochettes with amazingly tasty vegetables. And of course the Rose flowed! Highly recommended!

Came here for a Friday night dinner with family & friends. Rustic and typically French. Had perfectly seared tuna with creme brulee for dessert. Great relaxed atmosphere with friendly and knowledgeable staff. All in all a 5-star French meal and night out.
