This opens on the dot of 7:30 and prior booking is recommended. We however just turned up soon after 7:30 and managed to get a table inside the converted barn. This is a high room with a mezzanine furnished with antiques like an old radio and other objet d'art. The ballustrades seem to have been coated with a plaster giving an organic look. The walls too have a unpainted plaster finish. There is a pleasant patio area for more dining just outside but this was not populated at the time of our visit.This restaurant is another husband and wife team in Fontevielle. We had dinner at Le Patio during a short visit to the region and were totally delighted with our choice.The setting is fabulous the moment you leave the street into this ageless farm interior court where dining takes place.The owners are your hosts and we came without a reservation but were quite lucky to get a table promptly.The staff were very helpful and courteous and we made our menu selection with the guidance of the chef’s wife and co-owner.As an appetizer, we chose a swordfish carpaccio served with a touch of local olive oil that was delicious.We went on with a selection of daurade royale which was served truly to perfection with a crispy skin on a vegetable bed.Our wine selection wen...
Third visit in five years, actually. We returned to Mausane les Appilles after five years and Le Patio was better than ever. Most of us ordered from the 45 euro price fixe menu. Most of us are real foodies and we thought it was transformative, especially the swordfish seviche appetizer (see pix). HIGHLY recommend, but try to 1) eat on the patio and 2) finish before dark because mosquitoes emerge as if on cue just as dark sets in.

Le meilleur restaurant de Fontvieille. Nous avons essayé les 7 en une semaine et n’avons pas pu conclure autrement que cette cuisine raffinée et ce service se démarquaient. Le serveur était si gentil. La nourriture était tendrement douce, mais d'un goût si franc. Une vraie révélation. J'ai adoré chaque seconde passée dans cet endroit charmant. Merci beaucoup!
We found this place in the Michelin Guide. it was just lovely. A bit cold for the patio, but the ambience inside was just lovely--rustic charm. Our meal was a great quality from the amuse bouche to the appetizer to the entree. We were totally impressed and the service was excellent. The town is 20 minutes or so from St. Remy but worth the drive.
Very friendly restaurant in a great setting with very good quality food. We couldn't sit outside as it wasn't warm enough, but the inside is very quirky and makes for a pleasant environment. The starters and desserts were the best courses, and the staff were great. Recommended.
