A lovely setting near the bridge over the canal this lovely restaurant serves food that is to die for. I had travelled to Cambrai with two friends (one french)to see the grave of an uncle who was killed in WW1. After a morning viewing a beautiful well maintained cemetery where many soldiers of France,Germany,the UK and Russia lay at rest in peace together , we decided to call at Le Petit Chef for lunch. One look at the exquisite food being served confirmed that we had made the right choice. Everything is cooked fresh, looks and tastes fantastic. Indeed no Olympic Breakfasts here. This is a real little Chef, not a glorified greasy spoon.Enjoy
Just happen to be camping in the small park adjacent to this hidden gem. A small restaurant when you walk in, but they soon show just how big they are. The owner sat us at our table and was very friendly. The waitress was prompt with the drinks and very helpful with suggestions from the menu. It was traditional French fare and was excellent in it's execution. You may have a little difficulty if you don't speak French, but don't let that stop you from trying this fantastic little restaurant. It may have been chance that brought me to this place, but it was fortune that smiled on this hapless traveler!
We ate here last week as part of a group of 6. The food was seasonal, delicious and very generous portions. Most of us opted for the white asparagus starter which came with an excellent sauce and beautifully garnished. Maroile cheese is a local specialty and this restaurant served us a excellent maroile toasts salad, followed by a fantastic platter of delicious seasonal berries as a dessert.A traditional restaurant serving excellent regional, local food, well prepared. Clean, cosy and welcoming.
Excellent, jamais déçu après plusieurs visites. Je recommande fortement. Restaurant familial par excellence. Personnel formidable. Prix raisonnable. Un excellent plat avec des produits frais, pas besoin d'aller au fast food en sortant. Cuire la viande toujours comme demandé. Pour ceux qui veulent une belle vue, c'est la vue idéale sur la marina de Cambrai. En tout cas, rien à redire, j'y retournerai encore. Je ne m'en lasse pas.

Petit resto conviables ou on est très bien accueilli par les patrons ou l on peut degusté coucous paella sur place ou à emporter et bien d autres mets vous venez comme vs êtes le costume cravate n est pas obligatoire et on y mange très bien. C est la 3 fois que je vais manger j ai pu déguster des huître gratinés un vrai délice et le hamburger rien avoir avec avec le mac do et un café gourmand qui ne fait pas grise mine
Restaurant situé le long d'un quai. Très chaleureux. Tout ce que nous avons mangé était délicieux, que ce soit les reins, le couscous, la viande super tendre et la volaille avec sa sauce normande,... rien à dire et plus, les frites maison. À recommander

The food we ate in this wonderfully authentic restaurant was exceptional..fresh ingredients, amazing flavours and great dishes. Have the couscous if you are hungry and the paella is well worth the wait.

Un ancien établissement mais une bonne atmosphère règne. La cuisine est bonne, les prix sont un peu élevés mais pas excessifs. Le menu unique est abordable à 18 € pour un plat et un dessert.
