"Had a Sunday lunch there last week, with my family. Restaurant has direct view on the sea (when the tide is in). Staff is very friendly and welcoming. High chairs and booster seats are available for younger children. Food is really nice, and includes sea food, gourmet salad, foie gras, but also burger for those less adventurous. Set menu was €30 and this was quite a lot of food. Relaxed atmosphere, quiet area. Highly recommend."

It was a very busy Saturday evening, the restaurant was full and tables were being turned as soon as they came vacant. There were several couples having aperos when we left who appeared to be waiting to eat. We had a fantastic table overlooking the bay, it was a good job we booked. Service was professional and never less than friendly. They were quite keen to take our food order, and there were several visits to the table whilst my partner was deciding what to eat, (never a quick process). but after the order was taken the meal proceeded at a relaxed pace.StartersFoie gras for P – said to be very good and huitres gratinée for me. These looked nothing but were absolutely delicious.Mains, P had a burger which looked very good, it was accompanied by some very thin fried potatoes. I was interested to hear that someone on a nearby table had their burger served bleu. I had merlu, which turned out to be hake after I'd consulted a dictionary. It was served with an absolutely delicious courgette gratin, (just realised I've used those two words in juxtaposition already). Courgette isn't one of my favourite vegetables but clearly this is the way to cook it. The only carbohydrate on offer was by means of the bread basket. Fish is a light dish and I wonder if chefs suppose that those ordering it aren't particularly hungry, I looked slightly enviously at my partner's burger. We finished with Tarte Tatin, a good end to the meal. No hesitation we will return.

A very good restaurant facing the sea (when it is there otherwise at low tide, the sea is totally out of sight), with copious dishes, good seafood and especially with adorable staff, chef and owner. We arrived for lunch while the restaurant was already closed, the tables cleared, the room and terrace had been cleaned and especially the kitchen closed. Well after a short negotiation, with kindness we were offered to be served cold dishes, which was perfect since our motivation to come was “l’assiette du pêcheur”.We were able to choose our table in front of the sea and were served as princes, with smiles and attention both from the boss and the young waitress. And above all, we appreciated the quality of the seafood at a more than reasonable price.Again thank you for the good reception and the quality of the products at this price. As a final word: Gardez le cap! As we will be back (trying to get there sooner next time ;-))

We came across this restaurant by accident when we stopped for the night at camping car aire at Taussat. It's about five minutes walk from the aire and right on the bay. We weren't sure if they were open or not when we passed, but had a look and noticed a board offering aperos. We were surprised that they were happy to serve us a couple of glasses of wine and a portion of saussicon which made a nice snack at the end of a long day of driving. We weren't intending to eat a meal, but that didn't seem to matter. The menu looked interesting and we'll definitely return.I'd have written this up a couple of months ago, but it's not listed under Taussat, and therefore I didn't find it on TA until today.

My last review of Le Platen was several years ago, when I was quite disappointed. All that has changed after a recent visit. We had a lovely meal here - a very French restaurant with a lovely menu all perfectly cooked. My husband had whelks starter and Sea Bream main, I went for the 30 euro menu which was excellent value, fois gras to start, followed by seafood platter, plus dessert. The young man waiting on our table was extremely friendly and spoke excellent English which was helpful as our French is not that good. We were allocated a table directly overlooking the sea, it was a truly delightful evening. We would definitely visit this restaurant again if we are in this area.
