You wonder where the clientele come from, but I guess it is worth the travel because it is very good.Small premises but it seems with lots of regular customers.Very efficient service with just the right degree of polite friendliness. We felt welcomed, but not stifled.Knowledgeable about food and wine too as one might expect for a restaurant with its reputation. Good English spoken, so no fears about being understood.We had the tasting menu. It turned out to be a very good choice Each course was so light and perfectly cooked and delivered at intervals that allowed time to appreciate, digest and anticipate the next one with portions small, but adequate. The sauces as ingredients were the most impressive, the perfect accompaniment to each dish, I could rhapsodise about them, it is what one expects from a French restaurant.If I had one piece of advice, don't go for the wines accompanying with the tasting menu, they were Ok but the quality of the food demanded something superior to match its standard; choose instead two half bottles from the good wine list, it will not be much more expensive and worth the extra.
We ate the second level of menu - suggestion d'ete - so it is hard to rate the chef when you aren't eating langoustine and hommard.We really appreciated everything especially the amuse-Bouche and the accompaniments with champagne. The champagne choices were exceptional and very well priced: Bolly Brut and Roderer rose'.The service was exceptionally friendly the wines varied in price from very reasonably priced to expensive.The pre desert was not as fabulous as the desert which was a tomato and mozzarella 'orgasm'. It'll surprise you no end.Worth the trip. Pleasant interior if a little dated in French style.
This was the second visit to this excellent restaurant. A cosy lunch for four of us to celebrate a birthday.We have the menu ' suggestion' which was just outstanding. Two amuse bouches which were also delightful!!The quality of food, service and value for money put this place at the top of my list of favourite places.If you are in or passing through Bretagne, make a detour and eat here, you will not regret it.Fantastique!!!
Our second time in Vannes and we were in town only 2 days last time so did not get to try this Michelin star restaurant. My wife and I had a fantastic dinner. The rose champagne we started with was beautiful. The langoustine starter was delicious. The homard was superb. Finally the souffle was fabulous. A wonderful anniversary dinner to remember.
