We stayed at Le P'tit Lan, Sauvelade while walking the Chemin de Compostelle in September 2016. We had a two bed room and took the demi pension/half board option. The accommodation is clean and basic. There is a kitchen, a big table and cooking facilities for those who want to cook their own food. There is also a very reasonably priced washing machine and drier. The whole place is well equipped. The bathrooms were clean and the showers good and hot. The young couple who run this place are friendly and so welcoming! Wilfried is great, a friendly, hearty chef. He made us a fine omelette for a late lunch and then at dinner time we were served a feast-we had a great big fresh salad (salade composée) with olives and diced cheese and ham to start, confit de canard (duck) with amazing homemade chips for our main course, followed by an absolutely fantastic creme brûlée. This was all washed down with a very drinkable local red wine. The atmosphere at the dinner table with every one seated together at a long table was very friendly and lively. They have just the sort of cosy, friendly atmosphere here that all the walkers on the chemin hope for. We enjoyed our stay hugely. The abbey surroundings make the atmosphere scenic and special. You can sit out and have a beer after a long day walking in the evening sunlight-perfect! Wilfried also provided us with a good breakfast- a croissant and fresh bread and homemade jam and good hot coffee. Everything was of a high standard. He also makes great sandwiches and we took some for lunch the next day and did not regret it! This gite stay was really enjoyable and the demi pension deal extremely good value for money
