Truly a fantastic experience every time we come here. We are regulars and hold the excellent quality of the cuisine and the great service in high esteem. The menu features Italian and regional (Ticino) dishes prepared to a very high standard with attention to every detail. Presentation is great too. The staff is as friendly as professional. You would expect to find this kind of cuisine in a high class restaurant in Milan or Rome. So great it is available in Lugano with the splendid view on Monte San Salvatore. Das macht mir bei jedem Besuch absolut viel Freude.Die Sitzgelegenheiten sind sehr gemütlich und den Abstand zwischen den Tischen finde ich überaus angemessen. Dort bekommt man durchaus nicht das Gefühl, wie Sardinen in der Dose Abend zu essen.Ich fand das Gebot enorm sympathisch.Ich wollte den Nachtisch meist gar nicht mehr mit meiner Mutter teilen. Im Rahmen einer Übernachtung im gleichnamigen Hotel haben wir hier unser Nachtessen genossen. Das Viergang-Menü ist köstlich, aber recht fischlastig. Offenbar könnte man jeden Gang umbestellen. Die sehr netten und auch fröhlichen Mitarbeiter lesen einem jeden Wunsch von den Augen ab. Die Weinkarte ist sehr umfangreich und recht hochpreisig. Wir haben einen Wein aus Portugal gewählt, der immerhin unter CHF 70 war, aber gut gepasst hat.
Unser Bsuch im Hotel Villa Castagnola war ein einmaliges, erfreutes Erlebnis für mich und meine Begleitung. Trotz untypisch regennassem Ticino-Klima haben wir das Hotelambiente sehr genossen. Die ausserordentliche Gastfreundschaft in diesem sehr traditionellen Luxushotel war ein echtes Highlight. Herzlichen Dank für das unvergessliche tolle Weekend, gerne wieder ein anderes Mal!
