Recently stayed here for a week while on business in the area. Impeccably clean, very quiet and calm setting and some of the most restful nights I have ever had while travelling. Mr. Cohen is a wonderful proprietor and host....he warmly welcomed me and made sure I was settled in and comfortable. His English is quite good and so don't worry if your French is not the best. The tiny village and surrounding area is perfect for a walk or hike anytime, and if you wish to go horse riding or wish to bring and stable your own then this is certainly the place for you. Of course the star of the stay is the food! Mr.Cohen has a true passion for cooking and it shows breakfast, lunch and dinner. Every meal was wonderful prepared and beautifully presented. This restored and well appointed 200 year old farm house is an oasis of solitude and I truly looked forward to returning at the end of each day. Wi Fi is solid and easily connected to, rooms are warm and cozy, showers are huge and the water hot and plentiful I really cannot find anything to fault here. Definitely recommend a stay here and will only stay here when in the area again.

Had dinner here while staying in St Astier. Beautiful restaurant with fabulous food, music and staff. Had a delicious set menu with an egg starter, veal main and raspberry pavlova. The veal was the most delicious, tender piece of meat I have ever tasted. Each course was beautifully presented and cooked. The most surprising thing was that the entire restaurant and B&B was ran by a single man. Can’t believe the food was so well cooked and wait time in between each course was perfect considering the cooking, waiting and cleaning was all done by one person. Hats off to him. A truly wonderful dining experience and if I’m ever back in St Astier it will be a must to revisit this wonderfully quaint restaurant. :

IF you are traveling with your horse on holiday this is the place for you, they have a field, etc where your horse can stay over night . This small restaurant has also some rooms, not many so book well in advance. Warm welcome and great food. Have been there several time and the food is always good. No choice of menu just one but very tasty. IF yo u have someone who is VERY fussy or alergique the menu can be change for them. Owner makes you very welcome. ENJOY!

Hidden gem! Only a few tables in the middle of the hills 15km from Perigueux. A relaxed chef who comes to propose his inspration of the day. Noodles with sesame an yuzu (yes he likes to add a Japanese touch sometimes) were perfect. A few rooms and a few horses to rent, you can also stay a bit longer! The value for the price is incredible, the level of the food is worth a one-star.
