We had intended to dine elsewhere, but found that restaurant booked, so on recommendation of our hotelier, we booked in here. Located in a spa hotel Le Relais de Montmartre is a stylish, modern facility with a beautifully decorated dining room. The food was absolutely up to it 's status as a Michelin starred establishment--modern, inventive, and beautifully served. The only downside came with the bill! There have been complaints here on TripAdvisor that when the chef was awarded his Michelin star prices soared. Well, that is true. The night before we dined at another, equally fine, Michelin starred restaurant in a neighboring village for literally half of what it cost us here. We did not find any significant difference between the two dinners in terms of quality, so suspect that Le Relais is really trying to capitalize on its Michelin rating. That is not to diminish the quality of the food and the dining experience which is top drawer. It is only to say that one can find equally fine dining at a fraction of the cost nearby. Be prepared to pay prices approaching Paris here!

After failing to get a booking at another Michelin starred place nearby, our hotelier recommended Le Relais de Montmartre. We were not disappointed, except at the prices which were nearly double what we had paid in another nearby, also Michelin starred restaurant the night before. Previous reviewers here had noted that when the chef won his Michelin star prices soared. Well, that appears to be true. Nonetheless, what is provided is a wonderful dining experience true to modern haute cuisine in a beautiful setting with fine service. The chef is clearly talented, sending out beautifully sculpted dishes that were filled with interesting flavors. Just be prepared for a bit of sticker shock! If you are not concerned about that, then consider this a strong recommendation for a must-visit place in the Macon!

We have enjoyed this restaurant for years. The cuisine is fresh, imaginative and simply delicious. We love the emphasis on exotic as well as local. One doesn 't simply eat here--every mouthful is something special to be savoured and studied and discussed. This is THE place we go when we want to treat ourselves. The chef knows us by now and always comes by our table to chat return he can. Visitors should ask about the gourmet picnic option! The hotel rooms are also lovely little retreats. We have brought numerous guests to this restaurant/hotel, and all leave feeling like they 've experience the best of French hospitality.

We stayed here on a cold February stop over, The rooms are very comfortable but quite expensive starting at 150euros but this was made up for by the food which was was amazing the 4 four course seasonal meal starter, mains, cheese dessert included four extra small taster dishes and was 49euros . How can you make creamey mashed potatoe with cauliflour cream reduction taste so fantastic add truffle ! The dining room was full on a Wednesday night Well worth a detour.
