The village of Sainte-Agnès is just about 10 kms from the sea and the town of Menton, but you would never guess it as you climb almost 2500 feet above sea level to this small village on the Riviera. We had a lovely lunch on the sunny terrace of Le Righi, which features a jaw-dropping panorama of the Baie du Soleil (or Baie de Menton as some call it). The food was well-prepared and featured homemade tortas (tourte aux blettes, pissaladière), as well as home-made pastas. Service was friendly and relaxed (a bit on the slow side, but what's the rush?). Price was very reasonable. Note that the restaurant is open for lunch only most of the year, and dinner only July and August.Sainte-Agnès is a fun place to visit: medieval ruins on top of the hill, and a vast underground bunker, part of the Maginot line, that is well preserved and can be visited. But lunch at the terrace of Le Righi is worth the trip all by itself. We will be back.

Sainte Agnes is a fantastic place to visit... I didn't have anything to east, just a couple of drinks... but the views are outstanding... the staff are friendly and polite.. and a seat on the terrace is a must. If you don't drive, the get the number 10 bust from Menton bus station, under the railway bridge and just past the daily market... the ride up is on a small minibus, so if the weather is nice get in the queue early as it only seats about 15-16... and at 1.50 Euro's for a single trip, it is excellent value... back to the restaurant... Amazing views and friendly staff...

We visited St Agnes and were looking for a place to have lunch. We came across Le Righi and has an unforgettable lunch overlooking Menton and the surrounding area. It is on an outcrop of rock and we had a snack lunch whilst taking in the view in the lovely autumn sunshine. The waitress was friendly and the food very good. The home made lemon tart was delicious. It gets busy so get there early if you want a table with the best view.

It's probably better for lunch...or if you just want a great view and a pizza. We did enjoy the evening, but the food was just "fine"....nothing bad, just nothing special.
