Le Roquentin - Réserver une table

Opposite the church , this restaurant was in a prime location. As with a lot of French restaurants after the summer season closes the opening times were a bit limited. Open every lunchtime but only Friday and Saturday evenings in September but we were advised to book. Good idea as it was very popular. We sat outside under awnings in a pleasant decked area. Madame served all the tables but there were no delays. We had the 26 euro menu, 3 courses. The escargots starter was a very generous portion and tasted delicious. Both main meals of steak tornados and magret de canard were well cooked. The profiteroles were served as an amazing swan swimming in a dark chocolate hot sauce. Definitely recommend that! Nice atmosphere , would go there again!

We have been going to this restaurant for at least 12 years, and it was a favourite, with consistently good local cuisine, and friendly, efficient service. We went there for lunch just before Christmas, and were dismayed to discover that the couple who ran it for years retired at the end of September, and it is under new management. The lunch menu cost about 13 Euros, but there was little choice. They still do a cold buffet, followed by a choice of three dishes. We had frozen squid rings and chips, which were unappetising. The choice of desserts is more limited than before. At the moment the only evening they are open is Fridays.

Having been faithful clients for the last 16 plus years, we were very apprehensive about a change of management due to the retirement of M. and Mme Ranou who had always greeted us like long lost family.However we were delighted to find the restaurant as pleasant as ever, excellent food tho' a slightly reduced choice, and very good service despite the fact that it was extremely busy that night. Definitely a return visit in the near future.

Had lunch in mid September. The food was fresh and well cooked, the apprentice waitress had a couple of moments for which the owner was very apologetic about (no need as everyone has to start sometime). The restaurant seemed popular with a variety of clients. Well worth a visit for a very reasonably priced lunch.

Hors d,oeuvre great selection so much so much you can overeat. Steak for main course lovely and tender, desert we had tira misu and good and happy service .I would recommend this to anyone also it is not expensive at all .
