Le curry mauricien, censé être le plat spécial de la maison, était un gâchis aqueux et insipide avec des légumes ayant la consistance d'une bouillie. Il semblait avoir été congelé au micro-ondes, avec très peu de soins apportés au produit fini. Les salades étaient tout aussi horribles, avec peu de vinaigrette. Les desserts glacés, à 8 € pièce, se sont révélés à moitié fondus 20 minutes après la commande. Tout cela malgré que le restaurant soit plutôt vide. Nous avons visité un samedi soir animé en plein été avec une bonne ambiance en terrasse. Le service était désolant mais dépassé, ce qui a entraîné une longue attente pour les menus et ensuite pour commander en effectif insuffisant pour le volume de clients. Les plats sont arrivés assez rapidement mais les boissons sont arrivées beaucoup plus tard dans le repas, après plusieurs rappels. Nous avons finalement été proposés des desserts mais c'était simplement trop tard. Aucun suivi pendant le repas. La nourriture était inconsistante. If you want great service and lovely food then don’t come here. The waiter was half taking our order and half talking to the table behind us, we had to ask twice for ice and twice for salt, to the point that another customer kindly gave us their salt. We chose (raw) meats to cook ourselves on a grill. They didn’t supply any spare cutlery or utensils to handle raw meat. They didn’t have any vegetables or dauphinois potatoes. The table was cramped for the meal we had, no space for anything (had to ice bucket on the floor). A restaurant that cannot provide basic needs is not a restaurant I’d want to eat at or recommend to anyone.
Un bistrot animé au cœur de la ville. Nous avons apprécié un délicieux repas, les moules étaient particulièrement savoureuses et mon plus jeune a adoré son burger. Bon rapport qualité-prix. Le service était sympathique et efficace, même si l'endroit était très animé. Nous y retournerons avec plaisir.

This is our go to restaurant in Saint Gervais and it has just undergone a massive refurbishment that is amazing. The food is always superb and the owners are always warm and friendly. If you are looking for somewhere to eat when in Saint Gervais you will not go wrong here.
The family who run the place are lovely but the chef , who smokes, let's the whole thing down. Had moules in what looked and tasted like dishwater. Frites were fat and frozen. Even the salads vert was second rate.Prices low. Red Wine ok but served cold from fridge.
Went here having wandered through town looking for a French restaurant that we could afford. Good varied menu with lots of carnivorous options. Very nice wine list and a good spot to sit outside. Hope to go here again.
I've been here a few times for both lunch & dinner and the food has always been good and the service friendly. Would recommend the cafe gourmand! The terrasse is a good spot for people watching.

Nous visitons Saint Gervais plusieurs fois par an et le Royal est toujours notre premier choix. Une excellente cuisine à un prix abordable avec un service impeccable. Que demander de plus.
