Ate here twice during a week long stay in Esperaza. On both occasions we were greeted enthusiastically by the owners who were excellent hosts. The menu is not extensive but caters for all tastes. I had a fish dish both nights, cod in a tomato and pepper sauce which was so nice my husband chose it the second night ! On the second night I chose the Friday night special which was a fish bouillabaisse and it was delicious . The wine was local and very reasonable. Highly recommend Le Saint Gobain if you are in the area.
Just returned from a week's holiday in Esperaza in a party of six and ate at Saint Gobain twice. All of us thought that the food was excellent on both occasions. We were made to feel very welcome by the owners, Robin and Jennifer, and also Lynn the waitresswho were all willing to spend time chatting to us and giving invaluable advice about the area. One of our party is a vegetarian and was able to actually have a choice of meals, which is unusual in France.
Mon mari et moi visitons Espéraza depuis plusieurs années et lors de notre dernière visite, nous avons remarqué que le St Gobain était devenu un restaurant. Nous avons donc décidé de l'essayer lors de cette visite. C'était en milieu de semaine hors saison et nous étions les seuls clients dans le restaurant, mais nous nous sommes sentis très bien accueillis et avons été surpris par la qualité de la nourriture. On a hâte d'y retourner.
Albeit it was a Monday evening, overall food was not good. We came here with family of young kids because of the reviews. But...kids pasta was overcooked and charged at adult rates; fruit salad as starter were a few pieces of melon; salmon was cold and returned to kitchen. Kids strawberry ice Cream turned into vanilla. Decided to go as a couple everywhere else was closed, however we are glad the other places we shut. The food was incredible, service was excellent, the hosts we knowledgeable about the area and were very helpful, the food was reasonably priced and the chef was fantastic.We were not rushed out despite being the only ones left. Credit to them.
Recently visited esperaza France with friends and found this gem of a restaurant Fab food lovely people who couldn't do enough for you.Can recommend it for groups and families alike lovely lovely people cannot praise it enough.If you find yourself in this area of France give it a whirl... You won't be disappointed
What a wonderful place, nothing to look at at the front but you know what they say about a book and it's cover..We ate there twice last year and twice this year and the food was wonderful, the service excellent and the owners are diamonds and were so good to us. Can't recommend it enough.
Nous adorons vraiment ce restaurant. La nourriture est excellente. Le vin est bon. Le service est exceptionnel. Très accueillant et amical. Les propriétaires prennent le temps de parler avec vous et de vous connaître. Nous y retournerons certainement. Réservez une table maintenant
