Nous voulions voir ce que la nouvelle direction du Sechoir avait fait depuis un certain temps. Nous avons attendu un peu pour les laisser s'installer, mais maintenant je me demande pourquoi nous nous sommes donné cette peine. La formule de base est un menu fixe à 14 euros, café et vin inclus, ce qui est une bonne affaire en Dordogne. Vous entrez dans ce petit endroit, avec une dizaine de tables. Le premier plat est le "buffet au volonte", où vous vous servez vous-même, style bar à salades. Plusieurs options, allant de feuilles de laitue, à divers poissons en conserve (sardines, truites, etc.) en passant par une salade de haricots à la mayonnaise que nous avons pensé être d'un bocal, à une sa...
Ce restaurant a été recommandé par plusieurs personnes séjournant à Constant. Il était très fréquenté et la réservation était nécessaire pour garantir une table en milieu de semaine à l'heure du déjeuner. La seule option est le menu du jour, à 14 euros pour une entrée buffet froid, un plat du jour (saumon chien lors de notre visite), une bonne sélection de desserts, apéritif, vin et café. Dans l'ensemble, un excellent rapport qualité-prix, notre principale déception a été les frites surgelées pour accompagner le poisson. Apparemment, ils avaient oublié de commander des pommes de terre fraîches (étrange étant donné que tout le monde avait réservé). Reviendrions-nous ? Oui, car je pense que no...
Some friends were staying nearby and so we drove over from Sarlat for lunch. What amazing value for money but more importantly everything was delicious. The welcome from the owner was really friendly and he showed us to our table where a kir was waiting along with 2 pichets of red wine. There are numerous reviews which tell you what to expect so I won't go overboard here, but suffice to say the veal stew was gorgeous. The local red wine is very light - my wife never touches red but even she enjoyed it. And a great selection of puds. Possibly the best €14 I have ever spent on lunch - brilliant !
We came here twice last year, it was wonderful each time. This year, (today) we came again, and the quality, atmosphere etc were just the same. It is a wonderful place, used by locals mainly, which says a lot. For 14 Euros we had a three course meal, a bottle of wine, an aperitif drink to start and coffee to finish. The starter is always the same - a huge buffet of salads, meats, fish etc for you to help yourself. Then a main of meat or fish - today it was boeuf bourgignan with pasta, and then a choice of desserts What value, as all was really good. The best meal we had eaten all holiday! We spent nearly 3 weeks in France in June and without doubt this was the best meal we had, from the choices of the large buffet starter, the duck main course and the choice of desserts, the glass of kir and the carafe of red wine. It is a wooden rustic type building in a field at the side of the road and I believe we were the only brits, the rest of the clientele was made up of a few office workers but mainly local builders and yes they also had the wine.THE BEST 14 EURO MEAL EVER, can't wait to make a return visit next year.
Great fixed price lunch when it's open (opening times can be vague). About 15 Euro for three courses and wine. Fast service, the locals eat here and wow, probably the best piece of skate I've ever eaten. Buffet starter has a great variety and the prunes in Armagnac pudding is not to be missed. Designate a driver!
After a long walk we end up here for lunch. There is a set meal and on the day we went there was an unlimited buffet followed by sausages and then dessert. This came with a jug of house wine and then coffee. They are open lunchtime and evening and are very good value indeed
This is simple French rustic cuisine and perfect for a light lunch with friends over a carafe or 2 of Bergerac wine. The buffet bar offers a selection of local cuisine, with lots of vegetable options which are sometimes lacking in the regions menus. Réservez une table maintenant
