We've called at La Siecle on several occasions over the past couple of years. Last year it had gone down a bit, but we went again last week to see how it was now. We managed to pick market day - not a very big one, but still a busier day than typical. Despite this we had a friendly reception, and were fitted in to one of the last two tables available. We ate from the menu du jour as this is often a good indication of the standard of the kitchen. Our choices were pork and fish. Both were nicely cooked and tasted good despite the market day pressure. Certainly an improvement on recent visits, and the friendly atmosphere makes it a place to return to when we are next in the area.

The service was terrible, the food mediocre. The two fish plates arrived cold, the burgers were ok. The service was of the kind "on and off again": in the middle of cleaning the plates, the waitress never came back. Later, we got into a shouting match while complaining about the bad service

Not a nice place (neither inside nor on the terrasse), food not well prepared (Burger meat raw and almost cold, french fries not crisp). The only positive aspect was the service. Location / ambient has potential but unfortunately it's not unfold by the managment.

Unpretentious small cafe with a good terrace below street level at the rear. The food is excellent and the server is really pleasant and accommodating. Very large portions, great potatoes and the duck breast is amazing. Highly recommended.
