We had a slightly mixed night at Spirit. On the plus side, it's a lovely little place with a nice atmosphere and the food was excellent. On the down side, on a busy night they were struggling a bit with service and lost our food order.I went to Spirit after cycling the Etape du Tour with a couple of friends, who had booked through their accommodation. They arrived earlier than me and had a platter of meat and cheese on the table when I got there, plus wine. We'd demolished most of the platter by the time I managed to grab him to ask for wine for me and menus; both took some time to come. Then we waited some more for the orders to be taken. We were outside and it was windy and cold and eventually managed to move inside, by which time I'd finished my wine and there was no sign of any food. The waiter then came over, apologised that the kitchen had lost our order, and took it again. It was another 30 minutes before the food finally came, by which point we'd all crashed. The food was good - I had an excellent burger which came with potato wedges rather than frites and my friend had the local "saucisse avec choux", which turned out to be a sausage and some potatoes and grilled veggies and a bit of red cabbage. When we asked for the bill it came as the full bill with everything we'd ordered. I asked (in French) if it was possible to take something off as we'd waited so very long - missing the Bastille Day fireworks as a result - the answer was no. We could have had a free shot of local liqueur which we didn't want, but because the bill had been put in the computer they couldn't take anything off it, and also everyone else had also waited a long time for their meal. We paid it but I do think some sort of consideration of the wait and the lost order should have been taken into account - there were definitely people in the restaurant who'd got there after us and left before us. It came to €81.90 for the shared platter, three mains, five glasses of wine and a lemonade so it wasn't the cheapest ever but it was tasty. Just expect a leisurely evening, and take a jumper if you're sitting outside!

A group of 7 families (13 adults and 13 children) staying next door at Residence du Temple for a week, we enjoyed half-board at Spirit de Briancon. We received exceptional service by Richard and his staff. Chef Philippe went out of his way to accommodate his clientele. Charlotte and Sylvie waited on us morning and evening, always with a smile. Would thoroughly recommend.

I rented the Spirit for a private night with family and friends to eat, have some drinks and dance. The chef Remy and his staff were very comprehensive and attentive to all our requests and needs. The chef prepared some very good snacks for all of us, with products from local markets. The atmosphere in the old town is great as well.Highly recommended.

We enjoyed a very good lunch with a nice bottle of biological white wine. The goat cheese salad was splendid together with a very nice entrecote and hand made french fries. Within the old town of Brandon this is a very good restaurant given that this town is very touristic.
