Le Vieux Pressoir - Réserver une table

Four of us went to this restaurant very recently as we were all keen to try it. It seemed from what I read online that booking is essential so I sent an email requesting a table via the Vieux Pressoir website. After several days I hadn't received a reply which frequently happens in France as I'm convinced many establishments are yet to grasp the concept of the internet. I phoned to make our reservation which was straightforward and pointed out the lack of reply to my email and received the telephone equivalent of the Gallic shrug.The lunch was adequate, but really nothing special and my main course of Guinea fowl cooked three different ways was meagre in quantity. We have visited this place previously, but had given it a miss since the last rather uninspiring visit. We thought perhaps we should try again. This is a large restaurant run by a husband and wife. It is attractively set out, with good parking.Whilst the food is good, it is nothing exceptional. It isn't particularly innovative, but rather a place you would go to "just to eat". We found nothing wrong with the meal, it was all satisfactory, but that is where it stops. We visited on a Saturday and would perhaps have expected the restaurant to have been more busy. Le Vieux Pressoir est le lieu idéal pour recevoir la famille et les amis et certainement impressionnant - très élégant, confortable, impeccablement propre et joliment présenté. La propriétaire est une dame très gentille, sympathique et attentionnée. Tous les plats (y compris le Plat du jour) sont joliment présentés et très savoureux - et d'un bon rapport qualité/prix. Vaste parking. Il y a des tables à l'intérieur et à l'extérieur. Fortement recommandé pour cette journée spéciale.

Had the Marmite de poissons dish last year and couldn't stop thinking about it! Had to go back for more and I'm now on my fourth visit in as many months. Excellent food with brilliant service. It's a family affair and it shows in the attention to detail and care taken with the customers. Highly recommend.

I liked this restaurant so much I have returned many times with my family and friends and it never disappoints. Great food with fresh local ingredients run by lovely people.
