We have dined at Le Voltaire several times, and the food has consistently been good, as it was during this visit. The fresh foie gras was absolutely delicious. We would likely visit more often, but the menu rarely changes. My wife did opt for the special, the Peruvian pheasant, which was excellent. However, the atmosphere leaves something to be desired, as the tables are quite close together, making it difficult not to overhear the conversations around you. On this particular evening, we were seated near the bar and were subjected to the noise from the bar and staff conversations, which detracted from our dining experience. LeVoltaire is one of our favorite restaurants. My filet was grilled perfectly, medium rare, and the seafood special was delicious. Their escargot with cheese is one of the best in town. We had a reservation and were seated immediately. Lisa, our server, was personable, knowledgeable, and timed our courses so we were not hurried. Our beverages were served in a timely manner. The atmosphere is more intimate than many of the restaurants in Omaha. LeVoltaire has a varied menu with many entrees you won’t find on other menus.
We had a new server that had not been properly trained. She took our orders but did not bring us what we ordered. The food was not as good as it usually is. The French Onion Soup did not have cheese on it. The Escargot was excellent. They tried to bring a wine that was to our liking and finally did. Overall, this experience was not up to par.
