Le Week End is situated right next to the cathedral. We were hungry and it was getting late for lunch, by local standards, so we did not look further afield. We were pleasantly surprised, the place was charming and still serving meals. We started off with a glass of kir each and shared a half bottle of organic rosé with our meal. I had an exquisite smoked trout salad for starters and followed with a lamb shank which was fall-off-the bone tender and savory. My companion had a caprese salad followed by sautéed veal, both of which he found excellent. We had tarte aux pommes and coffee for dessert and my companion also had a calvados, very nice. Restaurant avec des vues à couper le souffle sur la cathédrale. Très bonne cuisine familiale, simple, variée avec des prix très très intéressants. Il est recommandé de réserver. Vue dégagée sur la cathédrale. Le restaurant est au sud. Parfait pour réchauffer les vieux corps (sourire). À l'ombre des parasols (Les parasols seront fermés en cas d'avertissement de vent pour la sécurité de tous, c'est normal, prévoyez un chapeau). L'intérieur est cosy et confortable. Il vend aussi des cigarettes et offre des lectures locales sur place. La proximité de la cathédrale garantit à certains moments de la journée le chant des cloches en direct. Je suis revenu sans hésiter.
Stumble in this place before going to Chartre Cathedral. The inside is small and charming. The food was great! I the 3 course lunch: pate appetizer, veal entire and chocolate dessert with espresso. Everything was delicious. The ambiance is casual and relaxed and easy. Loved it!
This small cafe is just to the left of the cathedral. There were several plat du jour choices and I had the stewed lamb with probably the best creamed potatoes I've ever eaten. I followed up with a wonderful chocolate cake with cream. Service was attentive but not rushed.
