Had "breakfast this morning after being here a couple of times and will not EVER come back! The only highlight was the coffee! Ordered the boss breakfast which when it came out consisted of cold toast, Luke warm eggs, cold tomatoes and Luke warm everything else. The wife ordered the blueberry HOTcakes and asked if they could be served without the orange citrus. The waitress said she would find out but didn't come back. When my wife's meal arrived it was again cold and basically inedible. The waitress came back and asked how the meals were and was told that they were very average. Left Bank is an easy, casual place to stop for a drink on a Sunday afternoon and just watch Melbourne go by. It's a fun place to go for drinks and a dance on a Friday/Saturday night as the DJs are great. But don't bother ordering food - we had dinner there last night and it was beyond disappointing. Bland, boring and very expensive for such poor quality. Our entree came out with our mains (not requested) and the garlic "bread" was actually a pizza. I couldn't finish the spaghettini, which tasted like it had been made from a packet and microwaved. $90 for two for a very poor quality meal. There are so many fantastic places to eat along Southbank so make sure you go to any one of them - but no...
The amount of people that appeared to come and leave without ordering said it all ..Ordered a weak latte and after 15/20 minutes I received a strong cappuccino.. My "mug" was a little larger than a tea cup and by the time I removed all the froth I had a few mouthfuls of burnt , bitter coffee ..Eggs came out on un buttered toast with melted butter beside it that was more hassle to worry about moving the eggs , tipping the melted butter on and replacing the eggs ... If your hungry and don't want to spend $30 each with a coffee for breakfast then avoid this place - actually avoid it anyway ..
Awesome location, a large heated alfresco area to the front, and modern but classy interior with various seating options. The menu is classically modern Australian, with tapas options through to multi course a la carte. The sliders, while simple, are the best we've had, and we've had a few, and the Blue Swimmer Steamed Buns are moreish, to say the least. We didn't have dessert but what we saw looked simply impressive! Great cocktail list also!There are plenty of options on South Bank, but this should be one to tick off first!!

My medium-rare Steak was overcooked, barely warm and quite tough.A steak-knife would have helped instead of standard dull serrated. Accompanying capsicum medley was oddly bitter. We found it very noisy, with background music too loud. The young Staff were not particularly attentive when trying to achieve drink orders. I doubt we will ever willingly return to this bank.
The buttermilk chicken burger was delicious and the crispy pork tacos were amazing. However the service was lacking, we were seated promptly but no waitress came to our table for a long time not to even offer water. It was a Sunday lunchtime and the waitress looked like she didn't want to be there. Apart from her the place was really quite nice.
A fantastic restaurant in Southbank where you can soak up the winter sun and watch the goings on around you. The staff are lovely and the food is fantastic. You can drop by just for lunch or spend the afternoon chatting with friends. I have been there twice in the last week and will surely come again when next in Southbank.
The Leftbank invites you to linger with its very cool lounge atmosphere. The very spacious interior has a bar, tables and sofa corners and is very tastefully furnished. The outside terrace with a beautiful view of the water is also very pleasant, especially since patio heaters are set up in winter.

The noise level on arrival was enough to wish we had picked anoyher place to dine. Ordered steak with chips The steak was served on its own. After asking 4 times where the chips were they arrived 45 minutes later so natually will never know whay they tasted like.!!!
