I had a wonderful experience after a long day in Washington, D.C. I visited the restaurant with low expectations due to some disappointing experiences at Indian restaurants in Austin the previous week. However, I asked a gentleman named Augustine (if I'm remembering correctly, he spoke Bengali) to prepare my curry without tomatoes and with a spicy flavor. It arrived just as I had requested, and the garlic naan and rice were just as delightful, truly making my day. The chicken pieces were delicious and cooked perfectly. I made a reservation for a team dinner with 8 people on the evening of July 9th. We all arrived at the restaurant at 7:30pm, as scheduled, only to find that it was closed with a small note on the door stating that there was a maintenance issue. Our reservation had been confirmed in advance, so the restaurant had our email and phone number. A courtesy call would have been greatly appreciated, as some of us had traveled from different locations and even taken an Uber to get there. It was a very disappointing experience.
Only one word is needed to describe this restaurant. AMAZING!!! The waiter was nice and sociable, we had a lovely conversation, before the restaurant was busy. It felt like home. The food was crazy good! A little spicy even though we ordered was 4 out of 5, spice. So i would recommend going a level lower than what you think you can handle. As our waiter said, you can always add more spice but you can't take it back. Best of all it is literally right next to our hotel.
I really enjoyed my meal here. The flavors, the sauces, the spices, were all very authentic compared to other Indian restaurants I’ve tried in the area. I went for the basics Lan tandoori chicken tandoori. They have a huge selection of Naan. Service was Pleasant and attentive and the owners were quite nice to us in our larger group. I can recommend this particular restaurant for very traditional authentic flavors and very good preparation of food.

I made a reservation, but when I arrived, half of the tables were empty. The man at the restaurant told me they didn't have a table for me, despite my reservation. He asked me to wait for five minutes with nothing to do. When they finally brought us the menu, we ordered chicken but they ended up giving us lamb. It seems like they were influenced by our appearance. I will not be returning to this restaurant.
I've dined here twice since they opened and have been very happy with both experiences. It's some of the best Indian food I've had, especially compared to other places on P Street. The portion sizes are generous, and the service is excellent. I'm thrilled to have a great Indian restaurant right at my doorstep again. It's fantastic for both vegetarians (with plenty of options) and meat lovers alike.
I had made a reservation for a Valentine's Day dinner, but when we arrived at the restaurant, it was closed for an unknown reason. We did not receive any notification via call or email. I had even received an email the day before to confirm our reservation. I was very disappointed.
Great little place. Friendly and competent services. Decent food at a reasonable place. My hot curry was a perfect spice level and my wife’s tandoori, although not authentic, was quite acceptable. Value for money, decent, quiet atmosphere and solid service.

Everything was excellent: lamb was tender and flavorful, mango lassis were great, veggie samosas are the best. The service was attentive and ambiance set a perfect mood.
Variable service--lots of people but no one in charge. not as "authentic ' how can you not have brewed Masala Chai ? vegetarian dishes better than meat
