L'entracte - Réserver une table

We were looking for somewhere to have lunch in Calais and decided on L'entracte based on their reviews and we're so glad we did. I booked a table by phone (they don't take Facebook or internet bookings although I did confirm the telephone booking by Facebook). We arrived to find the place packed with locals (always a good sign), a fabulous atmosphere and our table was reserved and beautifully set. The menu was on a chalk board and the people serving there couldn't have been more friendly. The food was superb and plenty of it. A couple of the options had sold out indicating quantities of fresh produce are purchased daily. Our table was booked for 14:00 which is quite late for French lunch so by the time we left we were the only ones there. Next time I would book for an earlier time

We came across this delightful restaurant by chance and we were made welcome by the husband and wife team from the moment we walked through the door. With our drinks we were given some olives with a dip and bread and while we waited for our starters a large chunk of pate de champagne with bread to keep us going. The menu offered traditional French food and we had 2 starters between 4 of us, Chevre on toast served with a salad and escargot in a creamy sauce with bread both delicious. For main course my sons had cheeseburger and fries, declared the best he had ever had by one. My husband had pave steak and fries and I had the French version of Welsh rarebit ham and fried egg on toast swimming in a sea of cheddar. A very enjoyable meal which came to €100.

I was looking for a good but not heavy french lunch while passing through Calais. L'Entracte was a perfect fit. Both Monsieur and Madame, excellent hosts. Pintade (guinea fowl) with Sauce Normande (cream, mushrooms, calvados) for Eur9,90. Interesting too that the ambiance extended to other diners, with wishes of Bon Appetit from a neighbouring table, in a restaurant that was reassuringly full (I had booked). Parking on the streets nearby. To be recommended; I would happily return.

Wonderful welcome and delicious food! We found this lovely place on a cold Saturday day trip and so glad we did. Wonderful French food and great portions coupled with a very warm welcome. They speak English which helped us out too. The place was also full of locals which was a good sign and our lunch was really delicious. I would definitely come here again.

Thoroughly enjoyed our lunch at this delightful local restaurant in Calais.we were on our way to Eurotunnel when we decided we had time for lunch.Fortunatly dropped on this place a great find. Warm welcome despite not booking.Interesting menu and helpful advice,Reasonable prices.Could make this a regular stop!
