Some friends had recommended the fish and chips here and so we travelled over especially. We arrived at 11.50 and were given an excellent welcome with all the staff speaking as we entered. We were shown to the table and our charming waiter offered water for our little dog which was much appreciated. He brought it straight away but our dog thought he was playing and lifted the edge of the plastic container which I estimate held well over a litre of water. He tipped it over and we had a lake under our feet and the neighbouring tables! the staff were wonderful and the young man spent about 10 minutes cleaning up our mess. We were most apologetic but the staff really were great. I cannot say the same for a miserable old woman who glared at me throughout the whole meal obviously thinking that I was some sort of vandal! The fish was good if a little bony. The service was excellent and made the whole experience really nice. We will certainly go back.
Our second visit here. The first time we left a 5* review. Not this time. The service was good with the exception of the lady who 'welcomed ' us by asking what we would like for an aperitif before we were even seated. I am ashamed to say that we had a craving for fish and chips (how sadly English we are! . The last time we ate here it was very good. This time however the plates arrived and were ridiculously small. Two pieces of sad thin almost miniscule pieces of battered fish that together would not have made up the fish for a single fish finger. At 15.90 € per portion it was VERY poor value. With a single beer and a glass of wine and two coffees the bill was almost 50 €. I am sorry but a professional restaurant even a chain one serving frozen portions like this should be better. To sum it up, the smallest portion of food we have ever been served at far too high a price for the food on offer.
It's always so nice to stop off the highway and come across a decent eatery while travelling. This is a chain of a very good quality, as we soon found out. Upon entering, we were greeted by a very friendly hostess and happy to see a cosy and, well filled restaurant always a good indicator of quality. And we were not surprised my cream and mushroom mussels were delicious topped off with the lovely golden Pelforth, while the marinière mussels my son ordered were very good too. I bet the madras mussels are delicious definite try for next time! We also ordered grilled mussels but all that cheese kinda ruined the flavour. They have a varied menu with meat, fish, salad etc as well as a very good children's menu.
I would thoroughly recommend this restaurant for the high quality of service the delicious food ,the general ambiance and the great welcome we always receive.The fantastic.ily were visiting fro.England and lfeltpleased that the whole family were well catered for a d all enjoyed a great meal Thank you Leon.
